I had 3 colanders, 2 plastic and 1 large metal. I stored all 3 in a bottom cabinet and each time I needed one, I would have to bend over and pull the colander out of the cabinet. That really doesn't sound too hard, but it was a pain, especially when something had to be drained right away. I saw this colander and liked the way it fit right on the sink and if I wanted, I could just leave it there and it would always be available for draining pots, washing fruit etc. I bought the 6-quart size and it has been happily sitting on the sink or in the dish drainer waiting to fulfill any draining/straining needs that I might have. It's sturdy, fits over the sink very well with the handles that extend to fit, it cleans easily with the sink hose right there and I don't have to bend down to find the colander in the cabinet (especially helpful if bending your head down often makes you dizzy). I definitely recommend this colander if you spend time in the kitchen preparing meals. It's an attractive addition to my kitchen workhorses.

I had a plastic expandable colander and wanted a stainless steel version. I looked at literally dozens of options before settling on this one and I absolutely made the right choice. It’s sturdy and hold a large amount of whatever you are straining (I dumped 5 lbs of potatoes in there at Thanksgiving with no issue). It’s so easy to use and clean, just run it through the dishwasher. Food doesn’t get stuck in parts of it like with other ones, and you can slide the handles back to make storing easy. Highly recommend!

This sink colander is a kitchen essential that I cannot do without. Is sturdy construction and fine mesh make it perfect for draining pasta, washing vegetables and even rinsing fruits. It fits nicely in my oversized sink. and it is easy to lift and empty. Overall, it is a practical and durable addition to my kitchen.

My husband does all of our cooking, and was in need of a new colander. We recently refreshed our kitchen, including new counters and an undermount sink. This works perfectly with our sink. It expands quite a bit, so probably would work with many sizes. It's well made and doesn't slip around. We also hang it on a vertical rack, and the top handle expands while hanging, but the lower one does not, which is good. We have washed it both by hand and in the dishwasher, with no issues, aside from the fact that it is quite large. As I said, my husbands does our cooking, and every since we got it, he continually tells me how much he loves it. So unless there are durability issues down the line, in which case I'll update my review, I highly recommend this.

Great sturdy colander. But difficult to clean black hose "handles" as it is lose fitting over the stainless steel frame. I'm concerned food will get caught inside these black hose "handles".

Great that the ends extend out, so this strainer fits over a sink. A good sized basket, too. Happy with this purchase.

We have a very deep stainless steel farmhouse kitchen sink and this makes it so much easier to clean veggies when I am fixing various freezer meals!! Definitely a 5 star product for us!
