Highly recommend this product. Easy to install and built very well. Lots of room in the junction box for all the wire connections. The outer sheathing on the cord is nice and thick and seems like it's going to hold up for a long time.

I purchased this to replace the similar plug on a new to me trailer that had the wires cut. That plug fit my truck socket ('22 f350 12k miles) loose as well. I checked it against 2 other trucks, it fits loose in each. How loose? The spring loaded receptacle cover is the retention to hold this in. Hold that open and the plug falls out of the socket. What does the mean for you? It means the wires do not make a good connection and will become hot, your lights will blink or go out, your brakes on the trailer will be poor, and the plug may melt. This is especially true in the northeast salt states. What is my experience with trailers? I own 6 and performed full trailer service for more than 10 years on 3500 to 18000 lb trailers. From full frame repairs, axles, brakes, and wiring. I was hoping to save some time with a nice sealed plug and wire harness. Nope, getting returned and replaced with with an old school plug and wire set. Did I get a bad one? or 3? Yeah I bought 3, all the same. Bummer

If you have a habit of ruining the plug portion of your trailers, this is a great solution. Once you wire this box into your trailer, when end of the cable gets drug down the highway and needs to be replaced - its super easy to just undo the box and attach a new pig tail. No reason to rewire any other part of the trailer. However, even though the cables are color coded and well marked, the colors do not follow what I would consider 'standard' color guides. For example, every trailer that I have ever wired in the past uses standard colors (Yellow - Left Turn) (Green - Right Turn) (Brown - Running lights) etc.It will still work fine, you will just need to attach the trailer wires to the appropriate wires in the junction box (For example my trailer had a yellow wire for the left turn signal - I had to attach that to the 'Red' cable in the junction box.)

I buy a brand-new camper and it is all cheap wiring. Into regular electrical boxes. It isn't like mine was any different either. It is a top-of-the-line couples' camper. They just do this and install the cabling into regular metal electrical boxes. This provides you a new plug for your RV. Sealed where the connections are. Nice lugs to attach your wires cleanly. If you are looking at this listing it probably bothers, you how bad it looks. This was easy to install in the same area. Looks a lot better and functions well.
