I honestly wasn't sure what to expect when I opened this one up. The filter housing "socket" is made from stamped steel and has the adapter welded on it (a very nice weld though). The adapter is setup for a 1/2" ratchet (or extension in my photos) or a socket, but why use a socket when the 1/2" drive is such a better option! At first glance though I figured that being stamped that it would poorly fit on the filter housing but I was wrong. The cut outs on the socket are aligned with 3 on each side which is nice because even though the housing has 3 tabs on one side and 1 tab on the other side, it means the housing socket can go on either way and doesn't need to be rotated perfectly to align those tabs. This is an annoying design on a friend's housing socket.... His has 3 notches on one side and 1 on the other JUST like the filter housing does. This means that you have to rotate the socket perfectly to get it on the housing. With this design there are 2 rotations that it will fit.The fit over the housing is fantastic though. Its just snug enough that I actually was able to let it hang with the 1/2" extension on it while I picked up my ratchet! The fact that it engages ALL of the tabs also makes it less likely that it would break one of them off (yes I have seen these housings crack next to the tab because the prior person to service the car used the wrong too and it broke the tab off)If I had to give them one suggestion though it was that they should break the corners where the tabs are with a radius because they are a bit sharp.However, it's a DEFINITE winner for what it's listed for!

Today was my first experience using this tool with this type of filter on a 2010 Corolla and it seems to work just fine. In the past I’ve used very large adjustable pliers to turn off the filter housing and it was less than enjoyable especially due to minimal space for turning the handles.It took a while to figure this tool out. There was a metal piece in the way while attempting to slide the wrench over the filter housing, but upon pulling that piece out of the way the wrench slid into place and the housing was easily removed using a ½†ratchet.I had some difficulty removing the filter housing from the wrench, but it eventually came and filter replacement proceeded smoothly as the assembly was screwed back together. Once the filter and housing was back in place, removing the wrench was again a bit difficult, so I used a pair of locking pliers to clamp on to the socket attachment and the deed was done.I’m sure a second use will prove a bit smoother and don’t forget to remove them wrench when done. I almost didn’t.

It is sturdy enough but it did not fit a Landrover LR4 as it was described to do .

This makes removing the oil filter on my 2004 C70 HPT 2.3L - P80 an easy task. Theoretically, oil filters should be firmly hand-tight, but in reality, knuckleheads are cranking them down as tight as they can. It's either poor training or spite. It's a simple device that does a single thing well.

Dont buy it doesnt fit 93mm 15 flute . Went to Harbor freight bought assortment with different wrenchs in it and found on that fit . It was labeled as 93mm 15 flute .
