I put this on My 115 horsepower Mercury out board, that has never ever charged while I owned it for 12 years. I charges great now. I waited a year to review it to make sure I give the part a chance to shoe me it was good long term and it hasn't let me down. at some point I will probably buy another as a back up, but at this point I feel comfortable with this part.

Easy to install. My outboard wasn’t charging the battery. Now it is! Took a gamble it was the regulator and saved myself a couple hundred bucks. 1997 Merc 40 hp with oil injection.

Used on 1986 mercury 60 HP. I was experiencing 17-18 volts from the original rectifier and decided to give this a shot. A little bit of a challenge to find a place to mount it since it’s about twice the size of the rectifier. Ended up cutting and making new connections. Not the greatest wiring explanation for an older system. The (yellow, black and gray) stator connection, ground and RPM was simple enough. The two red connectors caused a little confusion. Ignition had no power. Ended up soldering a union to connect all four red wires. Seems to be working great and now seeing 13 volts being fed to the batteries. Problem solved for now.

Same as the OME it replaced. All the wires and connectors were the same as the OME. No issues installing. This motor is a 2003 115hp Mercery 2 stroke.

Bought twice. In both cases voltage regulator "popped". Second time it happened caused a fire in the motor which burnt up the wiring. It did work for about 4-6 months in both cases.1) July 3 2023 - original purchaseReplaced OEM regulator. It worked fine for about 6 months, voltage reading was good, charged batteries, no problems. About 6 months in the voltage readings went low, checked the regulator and it had "popped" (corner of regulator was expanded and missing epoxy). I thought I had received a bad one so I ordered another.2) April 15th 2024 - 2nd purchaseInstalled again, all was working fine. 3 months after install was running for a longer than normal 20-30 minute ride, at which point the motor stopped running and a small fire started around the regulator and wiring. We will be purchasing a *hopefully* higher quality regulator that is OEM. Cost is $270. My concern is that they all come from the same crappy factory in China.Really need more western manufacturing.
