I COULD have made my own, with a lathe and a mill - if you've got it, flaunt it, but these are much less time consuming.

I've made a lot of hold down clamps for my CNC machine but I never have enough thumb screws to use the number I need. These fit the waste board of my FoxAlien CNC machine perfectly and give me a lot of options for securing material.Note that these are shorter than the ones that come with the machine and are best used for stop blocks.

These are your basic thumbscrew. I bought mine to use in 3D printing projects -- though some might end up in machine shop projects. The threads are accurate. The knobs are good, have a reasonable feel to them and are firmly attached to the screw. Really, just about everything you could want in a thumbscrew of this size.
