I wanted bookends for my piano. I really like these. Nice and hefty weight. Felt pads on bottom to prevent scratching. Completely happy with these bookends!

Could be more sturdy for those larger sized music books (I have about 30, and the sides are bending slightly under the weight), but it gets the job done.

I purchased two sets of these, to use in my music studio, because music is constantly being taken on and off my shelves, but I wanted something closer to where the instruments are. While these are nice looking and will work with some fiddling, they are not very strong. Unless the music is perched exactly straight up, the shelves do not stay in place. As soon as any of the books tip to an angle, the shelves slide apart from each other. I will make it work by being careful with how I place the books, because I love the treble clef design and the ease in being able to move these around the room, but would much prefer a stronger set that would not budge when music slides over. Make them stronger and I'll up the rating to five stars.

I needed to tidy up my collection of opera and ballet DVDs and these bookends are just perfect for the job. They are attractively musically themed, solid and heavy enough to stop the slippery DVD cases slipping about when items are removed or added.A good buy. Recommended.
