Product Description

This high-quality Absinthe fountain is made out of mouth-blown glass (not pressed), has four silver-colored taps, a removable glass lid and an outstanding design. It is as well easy to clean, as you can completely remove the spigots from the fountain. This means easy handling. The spigots are made of plastic to avoid breakage of the glass. Nevertheless, they have an exclusive appearance, due to their silver color.
In general, an Absinthe fountain replaces a water carafe and drives the Absinthe ritual to perfection: Firstly, the slow drip of water easily dissolves the sugar cube. Secondly, water and Absinthe blend very slowly, which is important to get a swirly, milky louche. Preparing Absinthe with a fountain is a real experience. Every veritable Absintheur should call one his own! Because of its quality, this Absinthe fountain is as well perfect as a gift (and you can already use it at the party!).
Quality Note: The ALANDIA Absinthe fountains are made in Europe by a glassblower manufacture with a long tradition. They are distinguished from visually similar fountains by their precise manufacturing without craftsmanship defects (there are no crooked taps, asymmetries in the glass or too thin glass, which can lead to predetermined breaking points). You will not be disappointed by its quality.

How to serve Absinthe with a fountain:
Fill the Absinthe fountain with ice cubes and water and put Absinthe into your glass (1 oz.). An Absinthe spoon with one sugae cube is placed atop the glass. Then you open the spigots and ice-cold water drips on the sugar. Slowly the drops dissolve the cube.
The Absinthe Fountain "Boule"
Absinthe Fountain: Four Spigots
The Absinthe fountain "Boule" has four spigots. This enables you to enjoy your glass of Absinthe with a party of four. The glass is manufactured by a European glass manufacture with a long history. This means no flaws in production. Preparing Absinthe with an Absinthe fountain is a real event. Your friends will love the authentic experience of drinking Absinthe!
Absinthe Fountain: The History
Absinthe fountains are not a new invention. They were already used in the 19th century. On the photo, you can see two Absintheurs proudly sitting around their Absinthe fountain. Already at this time, an Absinthe fountain (instead of a water carafe) was an affordable luxury.
Absinthe Fountain: Mouth-blown Glass
The Absinthe fountain "Boule" is made of mouth-blown glass. This improves the look, as you do not have any manufacturing seams. The removable glass lid makes handling and clenaing easy.

+ Absinthe Manual for the right preparation
Drinking Absinthe is an experience, especially if you prepare it the right way. The set includes a card where the traditional Absinthe ritual is explained in easy steps. Despite popular belief, Absinthe is not set on fire. This fire ritual is actually a modern invention, and we do not recommend it at all. It destroys the fine flavor of quality Absinthe, is dangerous and historically inauthentic. The traditional French way of serving Absinthe is with ice-cold water and a sugar cube. The Absinthe fountain replaces the ordinary water carafe. Enjoy and santé (French for cheers)!

L'Heure Verte the green hour of Absinthe
Absinthe was traditionally drunk after work (5-7 pm). It was socially accepted to drink a glass with your friends. This time of the day was called the Green Hour (L'Heure Verte). In a way it was the first invention of the Happy Hour :-).
It's time for Absinthe (L'Heure Verte)!
