Very nice reel. The weight balances out my rod almost perfectly (5' U/L Ugly Stick). The only problem I have with the reel is that the bail doesn't easily close when winding down after the cast. I suppose more use will correct this in time, but it can be mildly annoying. Other than that, the max drag matches well if you're using 6lb. line. While I prefer 4 lb. test, the drag is smooth and easily dialed down.

I bought the 30 and 20 spool reels for my son's 6' Ugly Stick and my daughters Ugly Stick Dock Runner. The spools are super smooth and cast very far. If you told me they are double the price, I would believe you based on casting with both rods. They are super light weight balancing both rods perfectly and great beginner reels for the price and quality. They handle very similar to the Abu Garcia Max Pro Spinning Reel which is shocking.

i have two of these in different sizes. i bought this one because the larger one i found under brackish water in the canal a year ago still works great and casts really far. drag is sufficient for most things shore saltwater fish and any freshwater fish with normal line strengths. price on amazon is unbelievable great deal. get some.

For this being a well known, name brand, spinning reel I was surprised with how sticky and clunky the gears were. Each turn of the handle had a distinct clunk. The reel would only continue to spin for maybe two revolutions after releasing handle from a fast paced speed. It would just come to a halt. The name brand Japanese reel company's lowest models feel better than this reel. It compares to a discount reel from cheap import companies. Reel was returned for refund.

la verdad se siente la calidad de los materiales, me ha dado algunas buena capturas, me ha funcionado bien con linea de 12 lb fluorocarbono (especificamente con la spiderwire). alcanza buenas distancias de lanzamiento.

Awesome for an Ice rod, put it on an abu Ice rod, medium, feels amazing! Not affected by cold in the hut, or left out for a tip up. Highly recommend

Mine was ok but i think there was something wrong with the reel. I could here a rattle if i shook it at the right angle and then it would affect the smoothness of the reel.Coulda been a defective one.
