I recently installed a backup generator for power outages. I installed this meter in the transfer switch panel to monitor both Line & Gen power. It works perfectly, and for the price, it can't be beat. Thus far, it has accurately monitored the average Wattage in real-time, current Amperage, Hz, and most importantly, a cumulative kWh reading until its reset. It also monitors how efficient your utility company is providing power to you (Power Factor). Interestingly, while performing generator tests, I discovered my generator is actually more efficient than my Utility company! I'm very satisfied with this product.

A great addition to my standby generator system to be able to monitor power factor and cycle rate as well as current load on the generator.

Seem to be working, but if you can't do MATH easily, don't get them .The unit is very small , but we mounted them in small electrical boxes.Takes two units to really access one camper. We did but more though....

I wanted to add a simple ammeter to my home service panel so I could see how hard my generator is working when the power fails. These LCD digital display power meters are absolutely perfect for the job.The split-ring current transformers made it really easy to snap around the existing wiring inside my home's service panel. No need to disconnect wires, pass through a closed-loop current transformer and then reattach. So installation was a breeze. The junction box shown in this photo was also ordered via Amazon and gives these power meters a solid home, and a great professional appearance. They're also very easy to program. I have visual alarms set to flash if power goes over 10kW. It's also easy to reset the kWh readout for tracking power overall power consumption during a power failure event. The instruction sheet was simple, but covered all the necessary details.Update: After 3 months of continuous operation in my home, the meters reached 999KWh. They do not go beyond 999, or automatically "flip" back to zero. They remain stuck at 999KWh until reset by the owner. This is not a problem. Just be mindful that you'll need to keep a journal if you want to track power consumption beyond 999KWh.

Purchased two (2) meters and installed them in a 6x6x2.5 PVC box to balance the load on my Generac Generator. Excellent produce and a good buy.

I ordered 2 of these units because I needed to track my whole-house electric usage and if you have split-phase (220 Volt AC) service as most do in the United States, you need to install the CT's on each leg of the service leads in your fuse box or circuit breaker panel. After several months of use, the combines kWh readings are spot-on with what the utility meter outside indicates. But it is much more convenient to be able to see at a glance how many Watts you are using at any given moment. Even with just the 2 CT's, you can see exactly how much Watts a given device is using, by making a note of the reading, then turning the device on or off and recording the change. So if you do not want to spend a lot of time and money with a purpose-built whole house monitor, then install a pair of these. One thing to be sure to do is splice the hot wires which connect after a circuit breaker to an in-line low current fuse for safety. This way if the thin wire to the unit develops a short, the low current fuse will open. If you fail to install this way, then the small wire and unit could possible burn unless the main fuse or CB in the panel opens.

The first teacher that I like the most is that I do not have to cut the wire to install these. Thanks for the way it opens up and snaps back into place. Good size display with the information. I need to verify the frequency of the power that the generator is putting out and also the load that I have on my generator to make sure it is not being overloaded when powering home appliances during a power outage here in Texas
