My old salt container was too small/finicky so I was happy to find this one. I prefer the flip-lid to the usual swivel design on other salt boxes, the lid and the large size make it easier to grab my salt while cooking. I was concerned about the other review mentioning an odor, but mine was fine and didn't smell at all. The rich brown wood looks great on my counter too. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase!

The hinge did not fully close at first, however, this is gorgeous and it does its job magnificently. As a chef, I am constantly reaching for a pinch of salt and this thing makes adding it a dream.

Super easy to open and close. I love how it looks! It's much easier than the mason jar I was using. It holds quite a bit of salt, I'd say it holds around 2 cups of ground salt. I absolutely love it!

Simply put, it’s a great wooden salt box for seasoning. I’ve used it to store salt for a week now and it has kept moisture out better than other boxes I’ve tried. Very well made with no smell (some wooden boxes smell like the varnish/paint). Would buy more for other spices such as gochugaru.

I use a lot of pink himlayan and kosher salt because the iodized grains are too fine to cook with. Compared to the rounder bamboo containers, I really like this size and shape when I only have one hand free to season the food. The weight with the salt inside is pretty comfortable and doesn't feel overly heavy.This salt box smelled fine when I unpacked it and the smooth lacquered finish makes it really easy to clean.I did wash it as per the instructions and it does seem to have the water resistant properties as stated.

I like this rustic yet simplistic style! It’s the perfect size and doesn’t take up too much space. The flip top makes it super easy to open and close. I haven’t filled it up all the way but I’m sure it would be able to fit about one pound of salt.

box looks exactly as it’s advertised except that it came extremely coated some kind of menthol oil
