I found the micrometer stand helped me better check parts and easy to carry along with my traveling gear I use for spot checking parts when away from home

Seen cheaper ones and bought them only to have poor grip and weak locking angle. Got this and have been super happy. I'm an aviation inspector and can't tell you how nice it is to have this.

Very sturdy and stable. Holds my micrometer securely. Makes a world of difference when measuring case neck thickness. Easier to get an accurate measurement.

As received this product did not do the job well at all. It would not grip any of my micrometers firmly enough to feel confident using them mounted in it due to the 3 small rubber pads slipping on the mics and the jaws not closing square to each other. Also it was very awkward to get a mic mounted in the first place as the screw would back out but the jaw wouldn't open. I solved these problems by removing the rubber pads and gluing leather to the jaw faces, then installing a spring between the jaws around the screw to make the jaws open when the screw was loosened. I also had to remove a burr from the part that clamps around the pivot pin to make it tighten and hold when a mic is gripped. All relatively minor things for anyone who would be using this to begin with, and the price was cheap enough for it to be raw material to make modification worthwhile.

Folding idea seems great, but screw adjuster prevents flat storage unless loosened fully. Not unfold and play. But fine once opened.

Large, obvious cosmetic manufacturing flaws. This could be overlooked if it was functional, but quality micrometers are too heavy to be securely held by the tiny rubber pads, the thimble side slips down. There is no spring to tension the knob so it is annoying to open and close. Only suitable for the really cheap/light plastic 0-1" micrometers (think Harbor Freight). Made in China.
