This works great for bicycles with thinner tires. Not so for heavier or fatter types but it deserves a solid review. I recommend checking your specs before purchasing.

I recommened you not buy this product. The screw that holds it on comes loose after one ride. It was properly torqued down but it is steel bolt in aluminum. The threads in the aluminum seemed rounded and not deep. Likely a defect. I didn't have time to try thread lock or other solutions. The seller recommended "butter", they meant grease to help it tighten down, but that was not the issue. Threads are defective.Second it is too narrow and your bike will easily tip. If you load your front basket with any weight your nice bike will fall and gets scratched as it did with mine because I kept trying to make it work. The seller was not helpful, actually mi's read what I said I tried and just drew out the issues unnecessarily. Product is 1 star, but they did make an effort to reapond so I raised it to 2 stars. I'm sure the world will not end and continue on in spite of my low rating.... lol seriously don't waste your money.

People do this method to prevent it unloosning...it's sturdy but narrow, close to tires 2" going on with my Creative method but another lock washer better made of steel and a nut also RED LOC TITE BRAND NAME ONLY! Replace chinese white metal Allen bolt with USA steal bolt or use the one that came with it but its cheaply made and easy to damage the Allen groove where Allen wrench goes to fighting it...Method 1 put lock washer teeth faced down after u drop loc tite at top of bolt now...this kick stand can be used without bike bracket the bike came with ok but the Chinese make things fast, unsafe and cheap cause on my Kent 700 Road Tech bike the bracket broke off and wasn't welded on right or enough, all I did is tilt my bike over by accident with double kick stand down and broke it...sorry but if it was truly welded,no way that would ever happen....anyways Method 2 screw nut on at bottom of it ,sliplockwasher again drip loctite at hole below on inside of stand, screw the darn thing tightly method 3 after tightening drip lt again above stand below tightening the nut below over lock washer let dry 24 hours then it will never come lose and extra security add 2 nuts 2 lock washers one tighning below and other tightning abive under bike frame and last is another nut lock washer way below loc tite whete bolt is shown below the insert hole.....Very last is weld the snmbtch on...Another is drill 4 tiny holes of above bike frame to secure that plate on all 4 sides now screw in screws with loc tite...Now you have a very secured kick stand....no more worries, wondering or checking gd it...Chinese u need to stop using cheap white metal and do Americana way called steel !!!! Now buyers you learned by me....I'm just going to use 1 nut 2 lock washers plus loc tite red....I have racing II motor on my bike and I weight slim not skinny 180....I can't stand checking repeatedly and having gear of this stand getting lose then hits your spokes....you know where u going expecially on a motorized bike that does 50-55 mph.... dead or in the hospital....SAFETY FIRST AND A TRULY MUST!!! GLAD TO HELP YOU ALL by giving you tips,.

I knew it wouldn't work on my heavy cargo mountain bike with 29 x 2.3 inch tires, so I swapped it for a friend's kick stand that does work on my bike. My wide tire was the problem, the chain didn't look like it would be. It's working well on his 26 x 1.75 inch tire bike with gears in the hub. Because of bicycle baskets and the weight of my axle mounted trailer hitch, one leg kick stands are worthless. It's worth the money. I don't know the brand name of the one that does work on my heavy bike. It was taken off of a discarded rental bike. This kind of kickstand hangs as low as the pedals, so it limits your obstacle clearance. That's not a problem where I ride.

I installed it today on my velec bicycle and it looks kind of wobbly and fragile, the legs don't open much when it's at the shortest setting so it feels like it could lose balance easily if you put weight at the top on one side or the other of the bicycle, nevertheless it was very easy to install, I will edit this review once I've used it a couple weeks.
