I purchased this for a bench that had a 2" recess in which a cushion is set. I wanted the cushion to sit above the recess, and to not feel the wood of the bench when sitting and compressing the foam. The density of the foam is excellent. It's comfortable enough to lay on while also holding its shape well enough that when the top 3" is sat on, you don't feel the wood of the bench. It arrived in perfect condition, well packaged and rolled very tightly (it won't take up a lot of space while you're waiting to use it for your project).Cutting tip: I used a bread knife to cut the foam. I measured out and marked a line along the length of it where I needed to remove several inches. I put a piece of cardboard underneath the cut line so the knife wouldn't touch my floor. I set the bread knife at a 45 degree angle and cut a ~1/4" deep line over the full length of my sharpie line, scoring the foam. Then I went back over that line again with the knife at the 45 degree angle to cut a little deeper. I dragged the knife the full length and did not saw. When you continue to draw the knife over the same cut, it sinks deeper into the foam along your line without tearing or chunking, and keeps a straight line. I probably went over the line 5-6 times before my knife cut through the bottom and dragged along the cardboard.

Many moons ago, I paid a furniture repairman to come to our house to fix the sagging portion of our sectional sofa. My son and his 240lb pound dog slept there for a few months and a price was paid. All the guy did for $250 was stuff upholstery foam up into the cushion from below.Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I noticed a similar sag....same dog and son...and so I ordered this foam figuring I could just stuff more Ito the couch and save a few bucks.Yes! it worked but I was a tad concerned about the size of the sheet of foam compared to the openings between straps and wood and bolts, etc. Well, it turns out these cut with simple kitchen scissors, the very same scissors my wife says should be used for nothing but food. (Don't tell her.) A couple of snips here and there and I was able to get almost the entire foam sheet up into the couch and now this strong and sturdy, but cuts like butter, foam has restored our much abused sofa. I highly recommend this foam for amateur furniture repair using inappropriate tools.

I have 2 wing chairs made in 1953 that I reupholstered. The foam was a great choice. It is dense enough to be sturdy but soft enough to be comfortable. Looks great, sits well.

I cut in half and my dog's bed twice as thick! we are now both happy, I can lay next to her in comfort. I really liked the dog bed. I can just put it in the washer if I need to. And later use it for something else

This is a very good quality item and had it arrived anywhere near on time I could have used it. It didn't and I bought another locally to do my project. Only three stars for the delayed shipping, the same as the previous cushion I had purchased earlier.
