I bought this for my husband because he is redoing our fence and we needed new hole diggers. He said these work better than the standard ones, they are easy to use and the handle is sturdy. He loves them.

The hand grips on these are plastic with texture bumps, prepare for your hands to get tore up. Instead of putting rubber they just used what seems to be a plastic mold.

Granted... I purchased these several years ago, but I never thought the handle would give and bend as it has. They are useless now. At the price these cost... they should have lasted a lifetime.

Maybe it's good for digging in soft rock-free dirt. If digging in heavy clay with rocks, get a Fiskars instead. If you've got a rock kind of sticking out a bit in the hole, this digger won't be good for levering it out so you have to use a digging bar. It is heavy however, so you'll build up your arm muscles faster than other diggers.

Much better to dig a hole 18 inches or more deep.
