This coffee grinder is fantastic and well worth the money. You can control the fineness (or coarseness) of the grind, how many cups you need, as well as the duration of the grind. It is not too noisy either. It also appears to be well constructed. Upon close scrutiny, I did not detect any "cheapness" whatsoever, so I believe I will get my money's worth out of it and then some. The real question is: how long will it last before it breaks? If it does, I'll be back to update this review. For now, it's a solid 5 star product.

I am reviewing this specifically for espresso use. For espresso, it's good, not great. Why? Espresso machines, especially those with unpressurized portafilter baskets, require very exacting grind adjustments. This is where the AMZCHEF falls a little short.Lack of adjustability. The AMZCHEF is it is supposed to have eight steps (grind selections) for espresso, but it's really only around four stop-wise, and there are no micro adjustments. That's just not enough, period. I guess you can stop in between steps, but it's hard to see what setting you're on when you do that. I'm on "2" (I think) and there's only one finer setting left, 0. The stops are vague/mushy and hard to discern. Reading what setting you're on is difficult since the arrow is a little far from the dashes. Fortunately, it does grind finely enough to choke my unpressurized basket on the finest grind setting (0), so yes, technically it can grind finely enough for unpressurized baskets, but it just doesn't allow you to "dial-in" with precision. Although I'm pulling good shots, they would be great if it had more steps or a stepless micro-adjuster.The grind time for a double shot is around 18 to 19 seconds, a little slow, but not a problem. It's fairly quiet, so I don't mind. The grounds themselves are fluffy, but the fines aren't as good as with the flat burr commercial grinder I own. The 40 mm conical burr in the AMZCHEF is probably the same burr that's in all household conical burr coffee grinders. Although, there are no micro adjustments available with the removable burr as there are with some name brands such as Breville and KitchenAid.The digital display is big, clear, and easy to read. It doesn't look like a high quality display, but it's functional. Time adjustments are super easy, I didn't need the manual to figure out how to use it, so very intuitive. The manual is understandable and downloadable too on the AMZCHEF site. For espresso, you can only make half second increment adjustments which is OK, but it really should do 10th of a second increments.The machine weighs just over five pounds, and is attractive overall. The fit and finish is fine. Some people are bothered by the giant, hard to remove sticker on the side. I can see that being an issue for some, but I didn't bother trying to remove it. I have it sitting next to my espresso machine and don't even notice it. The hopper is good. You twist it to unlock it, and it automatically closes the bottom hopper to keep beans from falling out. Nice.Another feature is the metal portafilter holder. It's a nice touch, simple and effective. It holds my Gaggia Classic portafilter (58 mm) with the "black pad" attached, and is good for hand-free espresso grinding, but I actually prefer not using it. It pops right off, so that's no problem. I prefer holding the portafilter handle, resting the spouts on the metal plate while grinding. By doing this, it allows you to more evenly distribute the grounds into the basket as it fills, and helps you avoid making a mess. There's no sign of clogging and little grind retention from what I can tell, so that's good.In summary, if it had more precise espresso settings and 10th of a second time adjustability, the AMZCHEF would be incredible, next level good as a home espresso grinder. Even so, it has so many features and does so much right, I don't think there's anything better under $100, that's why I give it 5 stars even with the concerns mentioned. I'm keeping it.

Ho seguito i consigli di alcuni utenti impostando una macinatura da 5 a 4 e sui 7 o 9 secondi per una tazzina di caffé. Il caffé che ne risulta è ottimale (chiaramente dipende anche dalla qualità dei chicchi). Per ora si è rilevato un ottimo acquisto.Consigliato anche nel prezzo che per prodotti del genere non risulta eccessivamente alto. Macinini a meno, sono trabiccoli... macinini a maggior prezzo.. mah per palati più fini del mio magari la spesa si motiva.Buone prove di macinatura.
