What do I mean? If you have not been playing terribly long, if you are not playing almost always in tune (your teacher and/ or family can tell you), if you are not drawing the bow smoothly, at the proper angle and with good tone, I'm sorry to say that no rosin the in world can help you. How do I know? Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. There is no magic rosin. There is no magic cello, for that matter. Now, once you get all those other things in order, guess what? This is in fact really good rosin. I am trying to hide in the back of the orchestra, so I ordered this instead of the "solo" rosin. My loud cello already calls too much attention to my general direction. But this rosin does seem to "catch" the strings nicely, and make a smooth, mellow tone. But there is no magic rosin! You must play in tune and with good tone first! But I don't blame you if you try it. I tried a few other highly-rated, no improvement; now I'm playing better, and so I can notice a difference with this rosin. Good luck, and stick with it. If it were easy, everyone would do it. You are tough! You can do it!

I have tried four other rosins including jade and bernardel and this is the one that has brought the most beautiful sound out of my cello

Thus resin is truly excellent. I've heard complaints aabout the price, which I think are a bit silly. The same company makes a different resin I prefer to this one. The green resin goes on thick, and provides unparalled, consistent, strong grip. For a certain type of music (the "knocking on the door" in Shastakovich string quartet 8, for instance, it's ideal.However, it leaves the bow a little quicker than I like, and leaves thick dust all over.All in all, an excellent product

Really like it. I found that it grabs the strings easily and creates a warmer sound. It is both sticky and smooth.

Excellent rosin for orchestra or solo playing. I need no effort to grab the strings, and articulations are clear from the beginning of a long day of playing to the end. Well worth the price.

My daughter is a cellist and they don't rosin like the violinists do (according to her) but since she purchased this product she says she wants to rosin way more because of the feel and sound she is getting from her cello.
