About this item

  • INNOVATIVE SMOKE TESTING SOLUTION: Exclusive to Arctic Hayes the Smoke Pen is an easy-to-use solution for Leak Testing, Airflow Studies, and to test Aspirating Smoke Detention Systems (ASD).
  • APPLICATIONS: This Pen can be used for smoke alarms, air-tightness tests, ducting & cabinet testing, extraction arm flow testing, slight air movement, gas spillage and for compulsory CO spillage checks of boiler/case sills post fitting or re-fitting.
  • SAFE & EASY TO USE: When lit, the stick emits a continuous, non-corrosive, non-hazardous white smoke. Just like with a mechanical pencil, press the button at the top end to open the claws, insert the smoke stick, light and perform your test.
  • SMOKE STICKS: The Pen comes with 3 Smoke Sticks. Each stick gives out around 30 minutes of smoke. The stick can be extinguished by replacing the cap on the pen. Additional sticks can be bought separately.
  • WHAT’S IN THE KIT? 1 x Smoke Pen; 3 x Smoke Sticks.

Arctic Hayes Smoke Stick Kit includes smoke-stick pen holder and 3 smoke-stick refills. This Smoke-Stick Pens are the first product on the market offering a pencil-thin smoke pattern. It provides up to 3 hours of controllable smoke. Ideal for testing slight air-movement, gas spillage and mandatory CO spillage checks of boiler/case sills after fitting or re-fitting.

I had some frozen water lines in walls at cabin. I found and fixed a bunch of them. Air pressured the lines and not holding. I’m hoping to use this item to find some leaks without tearing out all the walls. I hope it works. Let you know.

I’ve been finding all sorts of uses for this. I ritually it was to test hvac duct work but I find myself using it to demonstrate air intrusion as well as even finding vacuum leaks on a motorcycle.First burn doesn’t work well so light it before you need it and get a good char. After that it works well. Very little odor, most people don’t even know I lit something.

And when I’m out of smoke sticks I wouldn’t be shocked to learn I can’t buy them anymore. So it works well but in prob wouldn’t buy it again.

Very deceiving on what it actually is, it’s an overpriced wick holder which the wicks would not stay lit, And the amount of smoke actually was less equivalent to a cigarette burning. If I could return it, I would don’t waste your time or money.

As a 31 year professional home inspector and environmental screening water damage assessor I find many uses for this product. HVAC backdrafting air flow from rooms toward the HVAC air return filter and exhaust vent air draw. I am sure you will find this product useful and using a bright light like my PowerTac M5 & M6 really shows the smoke movement.

Use this for smoke testing air flow, particularly for scent work. Very easy to use. Highly recommended!!

Bought this because we upgraded to linked alarms as per the scottish requirements. Heat alarm in the kitchen winks with a little red dot, but the smoke alarms are completely blank, and I was worried if they were actually working.Light this, blow it out, and wave it under an alarm, perfect proof the that things are doing what they're supposed to do, and you get a warm fuzzy feeling about safety that you don't get with just using the test button on the alarms themselves. Plus you get a small, clear, straight plume of smoke that's great for spotting draughts.
