I needed to install some ethernet jacks on my wall in an area where the cables needed to be recessed to prevent damage and this box made installation easy.The box is well made, it's thick and durable, but has plenty of clearance to easily install your wall plate and whatever type of outlet you need. It is larger than most others I've tried which was concerning at first. But now that it's installed, it looks great and was worth cutting the large hole in my wall. The depth of the box is also pretty deep and it butts up against the sheetrock on the opposite wall in a standard 2x4 stud wall, but at least it makes good use of the space.If there was anything to complain about, is that the color of the white doesn't match the Leviton matte white, 4-port keystone plate (nylon). Not sure if it would match a non-matte wall plate, but I didn't have a new wall plate to compare it with

Bought this for behind the fridge. Installed a surge receptacle in it which just fit. I installed this in place of a nailed-in single receptacle box. Instructions were good, it just fits inside 2x4 walls, but be sure there are no other cables behind it or between it and a stud, as there’s almost no clearance behind it or beside it when next to a stud. Nice and tight using the clamping tabs. Plenty of room for the right angle plug. Only complaint is the price.

Very strong, great design.If used for an electrical receptacle, a standard plug 🔌 would not extend out from the wall.Includes all mounting hardware, and faceplates. Easy to install.Perfect for behind wall mounted televisions, lighted mirrors.I will be using these again.

This box provides the deepest recess possible. It is a mounting box and does not include the receptacle which was no issue to me. The size of the box is large and deep, much larger than a regular single-gang box. It is easy to install as old work or new work. A perfect application for a lighted mirror, which I did not want to hardwire. This way, I can remove the mirror easily for painting or replacement. NOTE: GFCI is required if you do this.

This allowed me to power everything I needed to by installing an outlet with a configuration that I wanted to use.It's large, but when going behind a 65 inch TV there is plenty of room.It's deep, so the ends of the power cords aren't getting smashed by the TV.The other recessed outlets available only have standard outlets. The only one with USB was angled, and had an extra space to run more cords down the wall. I didn't want that.I wanted to power my fire stick from the wall, not the TV so there was no waiting for it to start up. A second usb port to power my TV antenna was neccessary. I needed regular outlets for my TV and soundbar also. The USB-C was a bonus for future-proofing. I imagine the fire sticks of the future will use them. This box was the only way to achieve that. Everything is able to be plugged in and it even came with a square cover too.It's definitely more expensive to go this route but well worth it to get exactly what you want plugged into it.The directions are clear and the hole dimensions are accurate.

This recessed receptacle kit is a great solution to a number of situations. In my case, I used it for an outlet that is going to end up behind an electric fireplace insert in a custom fireplace. The clearance in the rear is going to be tight. This recesses the outlet approximately 1 inch, and retains plenty of box fill for incoming conductors. I initially tried a recessed outlet but even with a deep box I did not care for the minimal amount of space remaining in the box, so I switched to this kit instead.The kit comes with everything needed to mount it as a "new work" install or "old work" install. I ended up installing it as a new work box mounted directly to a stud using the 2 included screws, but it could just as easily be mounted using the old work drywall ears. Think of this as an electrical box, and like all electrical boxes, no outlet is included, but this is preferred so you can install any outlet appropriate for your situation.My only caution is this is exactly 4" deep so it will only fit in walls that are standard 2x4 construction with half inch drywall, and no obstructions in the wall, so be sure to confirm it will fit in the wall before cutting it open.

I had no issues installing this for use behind my home automation wall mounted tablet. It sits flush when not using the bezel.However, if you are not using the bezel, then it HAS to be screwed into a stud. Otherwise it will fall into the wall cavity. The "feet" on it that tighten against the drywall push on the inside, but that only keeps it from falling outside of the wall, where the bezel keeps in from falling inside the wall.When not using the bezel, like for the purpose of wall mounting a tablet, then you have to put it on a stud and screw it in. And that means it has to be installed vertically because the screw holes are only on one side, and it is the long edge.The outer edge of the unit is LARGE. Much larger than a traditional electrical box, which makes sense because it needs to accommodate the electrical box inside it. So unless you have a 10" tablet, you need to mount it vertically (portrait). Mounting an 8" horizontally (landscape) will not cover the box.Figured I'd call this out for anyone considering this.The quality is good, but it would be great if they included screw holes to mount it horizontally onto a stud.

Had intention flush mount an IPad to a wall. The lack of an ‘all in one’ recessed USB receptacle resulted in researching and finding this product. Had a spare USB receptacle which fit into this gang box beautifully!! They usually are snug with typical gang boxes but this one was perfect. The box is deep but the wall cavity was ample. I’ll definitely use this for other projects

Great fit, easy to install, and lots of room inside for wiring or specialty fixtures that are a bit bulkier than the standard socket.
