Item worked great. I was able to repair three rods that I would have otherwise discarded.

I had a clean break on my rod (slammed in the truck door). This was a 300$ rod. The repair kit was easy to use. The fit of the carbon rod on the upper section was a snug fit. The bottom section I generously coated with the epoxy to insure a snug fit. I could have done a little better with creating the thread leave. But with the coat of epoxy it blends well with the rest of the rod. I did some pull tests in a variety of directions and it seems it will for sure take a 20+lb fish. I recommend this if you have an expensive rod and you want to try save it before you buy a new one. The could have at least spelled correctly on the label, which is my only criticism thus far.

I really hope I never need to use this kit but if I do it has everything I would need. This kit is useful to repair a rod that is snapped in half and you don’t want to add an eyelet since it may be too stiff or short afterwards. I say the value for your money is there especially with f it keeps you fishing on the water.

I bought this to repair a fly rod I broke on a fishing trip. The rod manufacturer would not repair it and it is a high end rod. The graphite rods in the kit fit perfectly inside the rod tip I was fixing. It is important though that after the epoxy is used to allow several days for it to set up. Also make sure the parts you fix are properly positioned and held in that position while the epoxy is drying. After the parts dry make sure you wrap the fix area above and below with rod thread to support the repair on the outside. It is also important to chamfer the ends of the graphite repair rod. This prevents a sharp shoulder inside where the rod bends to prevent breakage as the rod flexes during use.

Not just for fishing rods- I used one of the sticks to repair a broken carbon fiber ski pole. These poles are expensive, so I was determined to fix it. I tapered one end of a repair stick so that it fit closely, and with thickened epoxy glued it inside the broken part of the pole. If and when I break a fishing rod, I will use one of the thin sticks, and it should work beautifully using the same method.

I was under the impression that it was a complete repair kit when I ordered. But received only the the various size inserts only.
