My fishing rod is passed down from my grandfather, but it's seen better times. What I was hoping to do was fix it for an upcoming fishing trip as it's in one of his favorite fishing holes. This is why I got the fishing rod repair kit in the first place. Overall, I spend several evenings working on replacing the pole eyelets and strengthening the pole overall. This was my first time repairing any type of pole, but it was successful after a few tries.Once the tightness of the string was figured out (it took me a few tries) the eyelets seemed to set better and I was able to coat the area as needed. The outcome of the project with the items in the kit allowed me to fix the pole and it's going on our fishing trip.Depending on what you are planning to fix, this kit could help. I found it extremely convenient to have all the pieces in one place. Otherwise I might not have known exactly what items would have been needed. I definitely recommend

Although I occasionally wrap a fishing rod from scratch, more often than not, I re-wrap rods that are in need of refreshment or repair. It should come as no surprise that most of my rods are a touch older and tend toward the traditional thread colors/combinations as opposed to the “blingy†new colors/threads. I ordered this Aventik 8 pack of thread colors based on the traditional color offerings. I am extremely pleased by both the colors in the kit and the quality of the thread. Five of the eight colors are consistent with the thread on rods I already own and those that are not could easily be used to re-wrap a rod from scratch. The 500D thread size allows me to wrap my small trout rods but also provides enough beef for my larger saltwater rod guides. I examined the thread on the spools (pictured) and it is consistently super-smooth. No fuzz whatsoever and consistent diameter across all the visible thread(s). Half of the rods I wrap are saltwater and, as such, I do a contrasting under-warp as a foundation for the guide foot. I pictured the yellow thread (my favorite under-wrap) with three “standard†over wraps. Looks awesome, right? The price point is good in my book with 100 yards of thread per spool for less than $3/spool. An easy five star product.

The thread self spooled itself off trying to wrap rod was sooooo difficult because it birds nested so bad colors were nice and i was able to finish rod but had to cut off the birds nesting so alot of the spool ended up in trash
