Very surprised at the quality of this remote in comparison with most of the competitors. It has four mode settings for brightness and then timer settings as well which is excellent for my set up because the outlet outside for the lights is nearly 70 feet away. The claim range is less than that but it works from well inside the house and I do not need to leave or go outside to light up the backyard. The remote itself is sleek, almost reminds me of a high-quality television remote. Most of the others that I looked at and even have ordered and sent back were very cheap build quality.

Really great dimmer to go with Banord LED light strings. Works perfectly with the Vintage LED light sets and greatly over delivers on range. The product specs claim a modest 49 feet of remote control range but mine works just fine from inside my house more than 200 feet away. I chose to get this controller mainly for on/off light function but its dimmer capability is much more useful than I thought it would be. The LED lights look very nice dimmed a bit and having the ability to tun them up if more light is needed is a great asset. Great product, it should be considered a strong recommendation to anyone purchasing string lights and particularly dim capable LEDs. Highly recommended.My one suggestion would be for the companies producing the dimmer and string lights to coordinate and manufacture with the same plug connectors. The connections on this product are high quality but they do not match the waterproof gaskets of the plugs on the string lights. That said, it’s easily rectified with some black waterproof tape.

This dimmer was just what I was looking for to use with a set of string lights. Simply plug it in to an electrical outlet, connect your string lights, put the AAA batteries in the remote and that’s it! No blue tooth or Wi-Fi connections. Simple, easy and reliable. The remote has several pre-set lighting levels as well as infinite dimming capabilities. I liked it enough that I purchased a second one for another string light set I have in use elsewhere.

This was the simplest installation ever! I installed LED cable lights under the coping of a raised patio and it was just too bright. The lighting is controlled by the remote system for an in-ground spa but has no dimmer so I ordered this remote lighting control and dimmer. I had to plug it into the spa controller around the side of the house so I was concerned that it would have enough range - THIS WORKS PERFECTLY! In fact, I tested it from the far corner of the yard, about 60 feet away, and it worked flawlessly, with no delay in action (it did have direct line of sight from there though). The dimming can be made on a 25/50/75/100% toggle or variable with +/- buttons. I initially balked at the $30 price tag but it was worth it.

We had strung edison-style bulbs on a screened it porch, and the amount of light was just overwhelming. At first, our solution was just to unscrew 2/3 of the bulbs. But then we got this. With the remote you can easily go from full brightness, useful if you are serving food or something that needs to be well-lit, to reduced brightness for just hanging out and watching a movie. I question whether it really goes down to 1/4 brightness; it seemed brighter than that at the lowest setting. But bottom line is this allowed us to use all the light bulbs on the strand and easily control the brightness level - to a point - without getting up.

I have one small qualification on my recommendation. This is a good unit that feels high quality. The remote has some heft and it is responsive. I am using it with a 7 led bulb chandelier. The bulbs are 7w each, so the draw is 49W in total. My qualification is that the unit does not handle dimming very well below 75%. Below that, my bulbs start to flicker. Previously, the chandelier was on a standard Lutron wall dimmer switch. The bulbs dimmed perfectly all the way down to zero without flicker. It’s not an issue for my installation. I only needed a remote on/off facility, so I am content. You may not be though if you need it to dim led bulbs.

This is just garbage. 100% and 75% are the same. 50% setting is aroudn 75%. The 25% setting is around 50%, and you can only dim 2 steps lower than "25%", to about 20%. You definitely can not get a low "ambient light" level out of this dimmer.Worst part is that I only found 1 bulb that even worked decent, and it wasn't the one I really needed it for. I tried about 8 different bulbs, all rated as fully dimmable, all work perfectly on a standard wall dimmer or Leviton type table dimmer. Using this dimmer, some bulbs would cause bad flicker, some would start flashing at the 50% and 25% settings. When switching from 25% to 100%, there is a huge current surge and you can see the bulb momentarily go to about 200% brightness - great if you want to burn out your bulbs early.Bummed that this didn't work, because the remote is actually nice - it's large enough to hold, has REAL buttons, it is clearly marked and intuitive to use. Not like those cheesy remotes that come with a lot of hanging lights.But the good remote is pointless. Don't buy this.

I installed this in between a set of string (cafe) lights and the extension cord, and they instantly improved everything. I can now just use the remote to turn the lights on and off (it's a classy remote, reminds me of a modern streamlined TV remote, very user friendly and intuitive but not too dumbed down; e.g. it has pre-sets for 25/50/75/100%, and also can be manually dimmed using up/down buttons, set on a timer, or just turned on and off). And the dimming means I can spec fairly bright bulbs (great for cooking outdoors or setting up/breaking down) and then dim down for when we're hanging out, and then turn them off from inside when we head to bed. Great product at a great price.

Nice dimmer, works well. My only comment is no manual control on the unit. It can only be controlled by the remote, so slight concern if the remote ever gets lost or stops working.I mounted the remote on the wall with velcro to avoid losing it, so a holder would have been a nice option.
