Six stars! This is a great gavel. I needed one to bring with me to meetings. ONE BIG THING TO NOTE: In the pictures it looks as if the gavel comes apart by means of the hammer sliding off the handle. This is not the way the product is built. The hammer screws on to the handle and is very secure! I purchased this thinking that I would need to glue the handle on for regular use, but was pleasantly surprised to find the way it was constructed. This makes it great for carrying in a small bag in my briefcase for meetings.

This gavel is indistinguishable from one purchased at a Trophy store for 4 times the price. Good looking, sturdy and a great value!

This was the perfect accessory for my NOtorious RBG Halloween Costume. It was used all night long by several friends as a judges mallet, a karaoke microphone, and a hammer - I'm sure there were others too. It isn't a big gavel and is definitely smaller than what you see on TV. But, it worked perfectly for what I needed!

I bought this for my daughter to use for Halloween as part of an RBG costume at the end of the month. For a few weeks now, her little brother has been using it as a hammer and it's held up just fine. If it can withstand a 5 year old trying to smash things with it, it gets my stamp of approval!

Got it as a gag gift. It looks good but doesn't have the weight you'd want for your more authoritative gavel bangings. Great for on-the-go judgements.

It is substantial but not too heavy. Just right for rapping the podium at the beginning of the meeting.

It broke the first time we used it.

This was used as a prop for a film. The head was not secured to the handle, so we glued it. Once that was done it was just what we needed. Without the glue the head flew off the handle.
