How to Install A Clarinet Reed?

1. Place the thin end of the reed in your mouth or put it into a container of water to soak;

2. Lay the flat side of the reed on the flat side of the mouthpiece; carefully place the ligature over the reed;

3. Make sure the tip of mouthpiece is almost perfectly even with the tip of reed;

4. Adjust the reed by the sides with your thumb - don't touch the tip;

5. Tighten the screws firmly to make sure the ligature can not slide off, but not too tight.

Warm Tips:

1. Reeds work best when they are wet, soak it before the installation;

2. Take care when you install or place it, if the tip is broken or curved, the reed can't be used again.

3. After each use, it's suggested to be gently washed with the water and absorbed the rest water with paper, put it in the ventilation and store it the case.

4. Spots on the reeds don't affect the use at all. During the growth of the reeds, some parts are not covered by the leaves. When the dew gathered on these parts, and after exposure to the sun, the spots are formed. Some professionals specially choose this kind of clarinet reeds, since that means the reeds are grown in sufficient sunlight.

As a band teacher I am constantly having to get reeds so that my students are able to practice. I spend HUNDREDS of dollars on reeds every school year. As the big name brands get more and more expensive my students have had to go without, because I cannot afford to be buying as much as I used to.So when I saw these at $1 per reed I thought "What do I have to lose?" So I ordered them (size 2) and I they came quickly. There was no fancy packaging, just a box of reeds in a sealed plastic pouch, with each reed in a cardboard holder. Visually each reed looks like a basic unfiled reed, that looked a little rougher than the smooth sanded finish of the more expensive reeds.I placed it on my clarinet and and set my fingers to "B" in the middle of the staff which is a difficult note for young players. TO MY GREAT SURPRISE the note came out immediately with no hesitation. Very strong volume. I played up and down the full range of my clarinet and ALL NOTES spoke with ease. This is going to help my students with playability and confidence, while at the same time SAVING ME MONEY!I will say that it does not produce a full/fat sound that you can expect from more expensive reeds, but this is not a problem for young player as they are still developing the muscles needed to get that sound. I recommend this product for young players.

These reed work really well for the price. My daughter goes through many in middle school band. These are durable, come with a storage case, sound great on her clarinet, fit appropriately, and are easy for her to use. I would recommend these budget friendly reeds!

horrible horrible worst reed in my life. WAYYYY thicker than a 2.5 and no noise came out after wetting it like usual. It was easy to crack yet so hard to “play” on when you blew to play nothing came out not even air came out. do not waste your money on this horrible reed just spend the extra 10 dollar for good quality reeds. Take my advice been playing for a while worst reeds ever tried.

Ces anches sont inutilisables, achetées pour mon fils, elles sont dissymétriques, de tailles différentes. Bref, de très mauvaises qualité. Celles reçues ont été impossibles à jouer et ont été retournées...

Parfait pour faire des économies.A éviter totalement pour jouer parfaitement.Trop sèches, et son très curieux.Je préfère les anches Vandoren 2 fois plus chères, mais incomparables.
