This works well for keeping the face of the stereo covered. The seal seems to be quality. The cover takes effort to close properly, and the button to release is difficult to push. The spring in the cover is not strong enough to lift the cover up so it needed to be installed upside down.

It does its job of retaining water out. but it does not remain open, the lid is lowered.

Perfect fit for our PYLE outdoor stereo installed in our outdoor kitchen island. Installed upside down to avoid splash guard closing when using. Would be nice if it would stay up when in use but installing upside down solved that issue. Bar counter extends above stereo so will still be waterproof during rainy weather. Would recommend with PLYE marine stereo. Used an inverter to convert marine stereo to plug into outlet. Great purchase and upgrade to our outdoor kitchen.

I wanted a removable radio and this made it happen for cheap! Good quality too!

I searched and searched for a marine enclosure like I bought years ago for my SxS but found it was no longer available in the color black. So I decided to go with this one as it didn't have any bad reviews but it looked exactly like other enclosures that had terrible reviews. I believe now that this one is the same junk as the ones it looks like. First off it is just made cheap. It came prewired and where the wires go out through the housing, it wasn't sealed at all. It looks as though someone tried to seal it but gave zero effort to do so. The wires were also of a very small gauge so I replaced them and sealed them in. Next where the covered faceplate goes on to the housing it is just horrid, the posts where it screws on to is flimsy and I can't believe they didn't break when I screwed the screws in. There is a rubber/plastic gasket that goes between the faceplate and the housing.I would be impressed if this seals anything out from getting into the housing.I didn't want to silicon it either in case I ever need to get back in there. After seeing this I went ahead and drilled some small drain holes into the bottom of the housing just in case water entered so at least it could get out. Now the best part is the faceplate itself. The seal looks to be rubber and that is a plus but unfortunately the snap to hold the faceplate closed doesn't hold. Well in the box comes a foam gasket (no instructions as to where it goes), so I took the rubber gasket off and put this foam gasket in it's place. The faceplate now stays closed but the foam gasket is to thin and doesn't even seal the space between the housing and faceplate. So I went and bought some foam tape at a local hardware store. Now I have to come up with a way to keep the faceplate closed and sealed. The hinges are plastic and I don't foresee them lasting to long.Beware if you buy anything that looks like this piece of junk.
