Took me less than a minute to install. I think it looks great and even though the photo makes it look like a contrast more, it really does blend with the door. I did my little draft test and it works a lot better than the towel I had been stuffing in there lol

We live in northern Illinois where winter can be both windy and down right cold. Our house, built in the 1880s, has its original wooden door with a built in mail slot, which has no cover. Thus, winter winds brought a challenge—how to close a draft, but provide convenient mail delivery. This cover has proven to be highly successful! The postman can slip the mail through the slot and the amount of fresh air is greatly reduced.

We used to have a magnetic flap over the interior of the mail slot at the bottom of our front door. When it worked, it was good at keeping out drafts. But often it just got stuck in an open position. So I installed this Merriway cover instead. It does do a decent job of keeping out (but not blocking totally) cold air. However, the opening is fairly narrow, fine for normal letters but not for the bulky envelopes and small packages that our mail carriers try to deliver. So I am afraid they will try to shove those pieces through and eventually dislodge this cover. Worth keeping in mind if you are considering getting it.

I used double stick tape and put it over the back of my mail slot. It looks great and prevents air leakage.

1st one got lost, ordered 2nd one and it made it. All plastic. Not sure why nothing in the USA made catagory.

For the money paid you can not whinge. It doesn't seem the best quality...however it is cheap. Its helped with the draught coming through a great deal, even with a storm it isn't as cold in the hallway, the brown helps with the look, it is an extra bonus as it doesn't stick out so much on the door, check the meausrement, we got this as it was slightly bigger so we could cover some bolts for the front letterbox aswell

Easy to fit, does the job, good colour on my door and unobtrusive. The only downside is that it is brittle plastic and if any of it sticks out on the inside of the lettebox it gets broken. I understand the person posting the item is responsible, but, it still gets broken. A little too much turn on the screwdriver can also be devistating. It is still a decent bit of kit.
