If you are replacing a water pump, this tool is a must have. Good quality metal, it holds the fan in place for easy tear down or installation. I highly recommend if you work on vehicles a lot.

So the 36mm does NOT fit my Ford.I managed to get a regular spanner on it, but it was too thick and couldn't turn.Ford 4.9L I6 at least from 1993 uses a 1-7/16" which ends up being 36.513mm, too big for the 36mm to fit, which is why so many folks are fussing about this!I made it work with the 40mm but boy was it sloppy.Not sure how the pulley holder thing is supposed to work, ended up not using it at all. Just leave the belt on and tensioned. put the spanner on the nut, put a breaker bar in the spanner and whack it with a mallet, off comes the fan clutch.Take the belt loose to run the water pump by hand the unthread the rest of the way.If you are going to do a variety of later model makes and models this is probably a good set to have.If you, like me bought this to service an old Ford straight six, this will work, poorly, just get a 1-7/16 non offset slim open end wrench . Amazon has a huge selection!
