They are self-clinching, making them far too tough to turn finger-tight. That being said, they worked well.As some have noted, these don't have an oxide finish and appear to be painted black. Ended up with some fairly rough looking lock nuts after tightening them down due to the scraped off black paint.Still, these were by far the cheapest I could find on Amazon for the quantity, and given I only needed literally a couple, I'm sure these will last me the rest of my life. Maybe I'll pass them down to grandchildren one day.

Made in China but worked perfectly. Appears to have a nice finish. No issues with the nylon stripping out or not being the correct size.
