This comes almost completely assembled. You have to put the handle and guard on which can be slightly tricky if you're in a hurry. I do recommend a good Phillips screwdriver for the five screws. It may also be wise to make sure you have a new extension cord. Once I put the handle on I went right to work. My bushes were way overgrown but this Black & Decker cut right through the mess and left it looking really nice. It worked really great for me and the cost was the lowest by far. Even the national hardware stores with my Veteran's discount were no where near the low price I paid here.. I included picture of my before and after. It did a fantastic job making my work easier. I'm still not done but you can see that this hedge trimmer can handle the big jobs.

Arrived today and I trimmed the large tree/hedge by myself. Given I was quoted about 500 USD for a contractor to do the job .... it has certainly been worthwhile. Trimmer is very light weight and easy to use. The little saw blade at the tip is not much use but the trimming blade is great.

This tool is excellent for light to medium pruning. I also prefer a corded electric over a battery. The power is consistent and you just need to pay attention. It’s light enough to use with one hand and cuts a clean line.

Very light, and cuts through branches up to around 1". I like the fact that it's so light. I can reach out with one arm... one injured arm and still get through most of the stuff. I just wish I got one with a longer blade.

I like the lite weight and works great.On bad aspect is that the safety switch feels like flimsy plastic Does not stay in locked position whenneeded. So only way to operate is to hold the safety switch manually.So not able to have both hands free. This restricts maneuverability and creates one hand fatigue .
