Tips

Drill a series of closely connected small holes in the center of the workpiece to be drifted. Heat the item after drilling and break it apart, then heated again and driven to drift through the hole. Tap the side of the workpiece while continuing to drive the drift into the workpiece until the drift hole reaches the desired measurement. Multiple heats are required to get the desired shape. Used for making Wrapped tomahawk eyes or drifted eyes if proper opening slit is made.

Whatever metal this is made out of is not suitable for smithing work. It shattered on one end and rounded over on the other on the first project. All we were doing is opening up the socket on a hammer that already had an eye, I cannot imagine how bad it would perform punching the eye out. I wish I had used it sooner but I waited too long and cannot return it.100% DO NOT BUY!!!

Do not buy. First hit and the top exploded. Can see a big void in it. I said maybe I could still use to shape the eye of a tomahawk I forged. One hit and it broke in half. Save up and find a better one. I bough one from my local farrier supply here I the dfw texas area.

No blacksmith tools should be made out of cast iron. Poor quality and bad description on product. Do not buy if intening to use as a drift.
