This was a disappointing costume set. It's not horrible; it's just that there are so many things that keep it from being really good.Let's start with the easy one. The fake shoe buckles look every bit as cheap as you are imagining them to be right now. Maybe more so.The stockings are actually okay. They're super thin, but that's the way they are supposed to be, so no complaints there. As for the pants themselves, I really wanted to like them, and they mostly fit according to size. But "mostly" isn't enough with the way these pants are made. They fit me just a bit loosely, but here is no drawstring nor belt loops, and there is only elastic along the back side of the waist band. To make sure that the things don't fall off of me, I am either going to have to get some suspenders or try to do some kind of alterations. Also, they have no pockets, which is annoying.I think that I will be able to salvage some use out of the pants and stockings. It would just be nice to have known ahead of time how much work I would have to put in to make things how I wanted.

My husband knows costumes better than I and says the pants were okay in texture, fit, and historical accuracy. I personally thought it looked great! It has a pretty good fit, I like the look of the material (it feels cheap though), very debonair. There buckles take away from the look in my opinion, but the socks are nice. I think these are great for costuming!

I wanted these pants to go with a coat to a costume. They'll work in a punch, but they're poor quality and look kinds of dumb. ESPECIALLY the buckles for the shoes. They did fit ok but the elastic is uncomfortable in both the waist and leg.

I ordered these BLESSUME Medieval Mens Pants Colonial Knicker Pants Socks Shoe Covers for my teenage son, who loves costumes.Actually, my whole family loves costumes. All of us love history, and we find the clothes of bygone times much more flattering, romantic, and interesting than today’s jeans and tees. Our house is full of doublets and boots, petticoats and corsets, gowns and capes—you get the picture.I know these are listed on the sales page as “medieval” and “colonial”, but to me, they are evocative of the late 1800s and early 1900s, when young men still wore knickers. You could definitely make these work as a pair of colonial knee britches, too, but these have a definite knickers feel.My son is just about 6’ tall, and he weighs about 200 pounds. He’s built big, he’s not heavy. He has wide shoulders, and sturdy, hairy legs that look great in his kilts. He wears a 44 jacket and buys 38 waist pants, though his waist is about 36”. He likes his clothes a little loose, a touch baggy. We got him these in a L, and it fit him very well. One nice thing about these pants is that you can pull them down to their full length, and cover a bit more of the lower leg, or you can pull them up a bit, and they are a bit puffier in the leg. These also came with white knee socks. The socks are a bit thin, but they fit him fine. There are also two slip on shoe covers. They are black with gold buckles, I think they are maybe supposed to look somewhat Colonial. These knickers can definitely be used in a number of ways as a costume piece. They are knickers, knee britches, and what my husband used to call “stupid pants” when he did a lot of Shakespeare, those loose, baggy pants that look vaguely period style. These are sturdy, and should last for a while. they are nice quality for an inexpensive costume piece. You could also use them for cosplay, or a school play, or any time you need a pair of knickers.

I was expecting your everyday, run of the house, Halloween superstore, type of costume here. If that is where you are, then we're at a good place to start, because that's about what this is. As a costume for a casual party, it gets the job done. The sizing was good, but aside from some small elastic, there aren't belt loops or drawstrings, so you'll have to makeshift something if you need to adjust the waist. The elastic at the knees is fine and you can wear them higher or lower for whatever look you are going for. The stockings are quite thin, and the buckles are almost comical, but again, for a party, nobody is going to be looking as close as you are so it's all fine.I'm not taking off any stars because I got almost exactly what I was expecting, which is also what I think the seller is trying to represent this as. Now, if you're going to a ComiCon or cosplay event to be judged, or anything that is a bit more formal or "dressy", then I'd suggest you keep looking.

Ok for the price this is pretty good so I'm not taking any points off at all. I am a nit picker when it comes to authenticity though so here goes. The style in general is pretty close though the fabric thread count is probably a little finer than what would have been used 200+ years ago by the average man who would likely have worn home spun. Color is not uncommon for the period. The waist band isn't really authentic at all but at least it is not pleated with an elastic like another pair I got from elsewhere. So it can be disguised. I will simply wear a belt over that part of these. The ends of the legs are the same but I can wear stocking garters (period for men of course) and that will hide the inauthentic ends. They would have either been fastened with a button or just left with a plain seam then tucked into socks or as I will, use a garter.Generally, if you can live with the above imperfections, this is a good garment for the price so I can recommend it.

My wife has a medieval dress that she plans to wear for Halloween. I have a loose-fitting blouse that I used for my pirate costume a few years ago. These pants go great with the medieval pirate blouse. The pants are nice quality for a costume and the price. I wear a size 34 and ordered a medium. It fits me fine. The waistband is elastic and fits comfortably. Recommended for medieval, pirate, pilgrim costumes.
