I'm a beginner at tap and I initially bought the Bloch Women's Tap-Flex Tap Shoe in my street size (5.5M). It was a little tight, so I ordered the Capezio Women's Flex Master Tap shoe in a size 6. Though both brands fit well, I found that I prefer the construction of the Bloch and returned the Capezio. Both are nice shoes and sound great. Here's a comparison:Bloch Tap-Flex:- Shaped more like an Oxford, wider at the ball and tapering toward the toes- Soft leather upper. The flex sole is stiffer out of the box than the Capezio. A couple of weeks and the flexibility has improved while still providing support.- There is no stitching around the support at the back of the shoe in the Achilles tendon area. The edge of the support caused some friction but nothing a pair of socks will not mask.- Liked the short laces. Even if they come undone they are not a trip hazardCapezio Flex master:- Shape is different. It looks and feels somewhat like a ballet shoe mounted on heels- Very soft and flexible right out of the box. In fact, too soft and flexible for me because I could feel the edge of the heel transfer through to the insole. Probably something to get used to with time, but I found the feeling distracting.- The heel is rather long and extends forward almost to the arch. This may not be a problem in larger size shoes. The Bloch heel stayed well back from the arch.- The blue insole is comfortable at the heel but stops just beyond the arch. The ball and toe area appear unfinished inside and I kept feeling the transition through my socks.Hope that helps!UPDATE January 2024: I'm back here to buy one size bigger on the same shoe because my feet changed size through pregnancies and kids! My original one has held up well over the last 10+ years and I'm handing them down to a cousin :)

They fit as expected by going up one size. The Bloch page says to go up 1/2 to 1 size, and in looking at reviews, I decided to go up one full size.It's a perfect fit, slightly loose at the toes but not at the heel, and 1/2 size smaller would be too small.This shoe is not new to us, as I was given a pair years ago and several sizes ago for my daughter. She would slip a lot on the other tap shoes, and she never felt very comfortable in them (stiff, slippery bottoms, held closed by a ribbon). When she got these, she was able to dance better as she didn't slip due to the slip guard, and they are supportive without causing pain. That notched ankle part for the ACL is a strong selling point for us. The split sole makes every move easier. The price kept me from buying them for a growing girl, so when she got back into tap, I checked them out here. Buying on Amazon saved money, and using Prime, saved even more, plus it's convenient to order them by mail. Win, win, win!Excellent tap shoe, happy with this purchase. I read over other reviews before buying, and this pair was definitely new, had shoe laces, was well wrapped and packaged, and had no smell other than a mild leather smell -- exactly what I would expect of them.

I bought these for my daughter for her tap class. She is in a size 5 youth, and finding that specific size proved to be difficult, especially in the split sole type of tap shoe. I looked at these on the Bloch website, and at $110, that was just too much. Amazon saved the day, and we got them for $83! I believe the size chart for converting from youth to women's sizes advised to size up 2 sizes, and add half a size for wider feet. I ordered a 7.5, they came in less than 48 hours, and they fit absolutely perfectly! The quality is absolutely fantastic, and she said they were very comfortable.

I very happy that I got the right shoes with those black Bloch. I did tap dance for 1 year in my 20tees and now I am 60 years old and will try it again. In only 1 week I perfected a whole choreography based on the song Valerie from Amy winehouse on YouTube told by Nicole Messina. I just love it to playful make exercise, challenge my brain cells and have fun. It cannot get better and those shoes are amazing. I never thought in my wildest dream that tap shoes can be more comfortable than my sneakers but those are definitely super comfy ! Before I ordered size 9 i was concerned to order the right size since i have USA 8.5 in running shoes (Men) and sometimes in street shoes size USA 9.5 which does not make much sense to me. So I have chosen the middle which was size 9 and it is spot on.

These shoes are beautiful and the fit is great. I wear a 9 1/2 regular width and the size 10 fits perfect. Oddly, they did not come with any shoe laces, which was a huge disappointment. Who sells shoes without laces! Not to mention a specific type of shoelaces.

I just gotta start off by saying, these were a win! I have been tapping in capezio tap shoes (around $120 ish) . I was struggling with crisp sounds and my feet weren’t fitting the best in them.I got these, and the oh my gosh! They were everything the others were lacking. More support in back heel up onto ankle. Loved that and the little extra padding. The toes felt lot better and a hint wider . Just better quality for me personally. Better fit, crisper sounds, and I’m able to perform things lot easier. I purchased my normal shoe size because all leather stretches a tad. Didn’t want to end up with way too big of two shoes again.

Great quality and fit. I usually wear a size 8.5A size 9 fit perfectly. I don’t believe you can put your own orthotics in any tap shoe. Same with these. Because I don’t wear them for more than 2 hours at a time, I’m not concerned.Love the leather, color, ease of putting on and the value for the money. They are lightweight and offer support.

Great shoes!! Soft, supple leather. Comfy. Sound good. I'd recommend sizing up. I'm usually 8 or 8.5 women's and I purchased 9.5.

Los zapatos son de excelente calidad, vienen muy bien empaquetados. Pedi 23 cm porque mi alumna es 23 en numero mexicano y le quedó exacto creo que le hubiera pedido 23.5 cm la unica ventaja de estos zapatos es que con el uso van cediendo un poco y quedando suaves entonces no hubo ningun problema.
