I had a cast iron arbor press with a crack in it, ground a vee in it and TIGed it up with Blue Demon ERCuAl-A2. It wetted out great and is holding. It doesn't make pretty welds so plan on finishing it up with grinding.

It should be first noted here that this material is an Aluminum Bronze filler. It is NOT Silicon Bronze...nor should it be used as a replacement for Silicon Bronze. It is best described as an electrode (or filler..) to be used for joining aluminum bronzes or other aluminum materials that could be in contact with a marine environment or seawater. Having said that, I have successfully used it for joining other materials as well.These rods are well made and very uniform. In use they handle well and perform as expected. If you have a need (or a desire..) to join aluminum bearing materials this filler could be what you need. It is well adapted to marine environments or any place corrosion could be an issue. It is also recommended for wear surfaces where metal is in direct contact with other metal or as "overlays" on steel, copper, or cast iron.I found this filler to be easy to use with Tig equipment. I suspect that it would function well with a gas welding setup as well. I can find no fault with the material, but you should be sure to evaluate your own projected usage as it is a rather specialized electrode commonly used only around marine environments or corrosion sensitive applications.Five stars for an excellent product, uniformly produced, and well designed for specific usage.

Came in fast and just want i wanted to try. I bought the 3/32 size ans it came with 15 rods. The case that it came with screws on mid way down it will hold up but it wont take a huge beating. This Tig Rod runs very nice on AC and the puddle is easy to pool. If you are thinking about buying this to have in your shop or looking to weld cast iron then don't hesitate to buy it.

I found it more difficult to braze with ercual than with silicon bronze ( with DC TIG). The puddle appeared not so fluid . I may have had an insufficient gas coverage . I found it worked better with the shortest arc possible . Have not found much information about it, and none in my country ( France)!

Tubes basically dropped in a much larger box and shipped. TIG tubes all broken where they screw together. The actual rod was fine, but I really would like to be able to seal the tube as intended.
