Never owned a grinder before but wanted one for my Maldon smoked salt to break it down into smaller pieces. This grinder makes it absoutely effortless! It turned so easily and smoothly at first I thought there was no salt coming through. Wrong. It works like a charm. The little plastic top doesn't seem too durable but I will try to be careful with it. Highly recommend this grinder. Thinking about getting one for all my kids.

Great small grinder, I use this for pepper. It is very easy to change the coarseness, although the finest setting is not as fine as if you purchased ground pepper. When I received this I took the entire thing apart to thoroughly clean it (probably unnecessarily) and it was simple to reassemble. Looks very nice out on display too, I unfortunately promtly lost the cap so mine stays in a cabinet

Love this grinder. I've bought two of them now, the first one was months ago and it's still going strong. They are definitely easier to use than the ones that come prefilled with salt or pepper, specifically the ones at Walmart. The grind is smoother and much easier. No more hurting my hands trying to grind up salt and pepper.

Bought these because of a space limitation in my renovated kitchen. The grinder for salt works great, but for peppercorns...not so much. Very mediocre. I like the matched set, but these might be going to a new home soon. Bottom line, keep shopping.

We barely use this - like once a week - since we normally order in. The inside grinding piece fell out and no longer goes back, wont grind anymore!! What a waste.**EDIT** we since have gotten a refund and are willing to purchase another. to give a second try.

We used this for less than a month when while grinding a black ring dropped into the food. After examining the grinder we saw where the ring belonged but there was no way to secure it back into place permanently. The grinder became effectively unusable. Unfortunately, this all occurred after the return window had closed.
