I wanted to replace the factory breakaway wire on my 5th wheel. Everytime I moved my truck after hooking or unhooking from the trailer I worried about the breakaway cable catching on something and unplugging or damaging something. The factory cable was 3 or 4 feet long and a dull gray color. This breakaway cable is coiled and red in color. When not connected it doesn't hang low enough to catch on anything, and being red in color it's easy to see. When I first found this product I was concerned it was just made from plastic like my jet ski shut off lanyard. I knew it wouldn't be but until I had it in my hand I didn't know for certain. The cable has a metal braided cable in a plastic coating. It is well connected at both ends. This cable will will be much nicer to use than the original wire cable. This is one of those products that are cheap and easy to use and makes life a bit easier.

The break away on the fish house had kinked and rusted out. This was a great replacement. I really like the carabiner to attach to the truck and the coiled design keeps the longer cord from dragging on the ground. Would recommend this replacement break away cable.
