Graduated to this after trying several modern glass kettles. Nice to be back to having a durable item that heats the water so much faster than the glass ones and keeps it hot. Appears to be solid and of good quality. Worth every penny

My old Brawn discontinued water kettle finally died and I research tons of different new kettles and I ordered this one based on my research and other reviews and I'm very happy with it. The on off button and chime when the water is ready is very nice, and I like how the button that opens the top lid is in slow motion. The only thing is that it doesn't seem to heat up quite as quick as my old Braun one, but only by less than a minute I would say.

After having one of these at home for years, I bought one for use at my motorcycle dealership. They both have held up extremely well for YEARS!!!! The shop has 30 employees and many are tea drinkers, this "kettle" is used 6 days a week several times a day. Good quality ain't cheap and cheap quality ain't good.

This kettle is super fast to heat water and loaded with features like auto shutoff if too little water is in it, a bell that dings when it's done boiling. It is nicely balanced, and holds a lot of water. Sadly, it only lasted four years. I seldom throw away appliances without trying to fix them and this was no exception. After pulling apart the innards a couple of times to get at the two contacts that control the power to clean them, I gave up. You can see one of the two in the bottom right of this picture mounted on a clever arm that is operated by several different mechanisms. The rest of the innards were in great shape but as with many devices, the power contacts finally failed. Do not try to repair this yourself...mechanical and electrical hazards are present inside when the kettle is opened and powered up.

This is simply the best electric tea pot I’ve had in 40 years! It heats water very quickly, is easy to fill, I love the window to gauge the fill level, love the little blue light on the on button. I’ve had it over a year with no problems. And did I say I’m in love? Yes, with this brand as I also purchased the Braville 4 slice toaster. It also is perfect! And I love the little chime when the toast is done to perfection!

Before ordering this electric kettle, I was very concerned about the excessive beeping noise that several reviewers had complained about over the years. Either they were way too picky, or Breville listened to their complaints and changed the beepiness. It's not a loud beep whatsoever. It's quite dainty actually, and it's not too frequent either.It defaults to Celsius temp when you unplug it and plug it back in, but it's very easy to switch back to Fahrenheit. I like the multiple temp feature. Seems to work well. With that said, I'm actually a fan of boiling my water completely first before using it for tea.This was supposed to replace an older Breville electric kettle that does not have variable temp settings. Unfortunately, my mother, who uses it the most, was not happy with the fact that this has the plastic window completely exposed to the water. Plus, this new one feels less sturdy than the old one because it weighs less, which would actually be a benefit for people who have trouble holding heavy items.We ended up giving the new one to our son for a Christmas gift. He loves it.

This is the second time I have bought this kettle, as it seems to me, to be a near perfect product. At up to 1.7 litres, this kettle allows enough water heating for a family coffee break, in an energy efficient size. The scale on the side of the kettle enables persons, to judge very accurately, just how much water needs to be heated for the task in hand. It is also a very handsome looking kettle and will not make your kitchen look “kitchâ€. Real men would not shy away from using this kettle, as it has a very manly and strongly engineered look about it; unlike some kettles that I have seen. It would also seem to be a very safe kettle to use with a decent distance from the handle to the potentially hot body.
