This reasonably-priced plug-in glass kettle is fabulous! It's easy to use, the water heats up quickly, and the automatic shut-off feature is a lifesaver. I also like the way the plug stays in the base, so it's not attached to the kettle when you pour the water. My only issue is that after it's poured, the water can be hotter than it is with a traditional metal stovetop kettle. So this glass kettle needs to be used with much caution. All things considered, I give this kettle five out of five stars!

I questioned ordering this because of the negative reviews however, I decided to give it a try. After using it for 9 or 10 days I'm satisfied it works as advertised.One of the complaints was the lid wouldn't stay up when filling. Actually, the lid does stay up if you push it all the way up until it clicks. If you only push it until you meet resistance you haven't pushed it far enough. (With the pot sitting on a level surface the lid will be straight up when in the locked position.)Another complaint was that it doesn't stop boiling. I believe the directions stated that it will boil for 30 to 40 seconds before the shut off activates. While that is probably 20 seconds longer than the last pot I had, it does shut down within 40 seconds. If you don't like how long it boils just put your finger under the switch and touch it up. It takes almost no pressure and shuts off immediately.Someone mentioned that the lid has to be locked down or it won't shut off. That may be possible, I haven't tried boiling water without the lid locked down.I do like the switch location. I can have the pot sitting on the counter with the spout facing out and easily turn it on. That keeps the steam from going up under the upper cabinets. If you don't think that is a problem, wipe your hand on the bottom of the cabinet after boiling water with the spout pointed in that direction. That much moisture is not good for a wood cabinet, especially if it is a daily event.I marked it down 1 star just because I would like to see it turn off sooner. Once the water is boiling hard I don't see a need for it to boil for another 20 plus seconds.

I’ve enjoyed the same one for the last 10 or so years and it just worked perfect until it didn’t. It must have gotten a hairline crack or something because it started leaking. We had a good run with it and used it daily. Fast forward to that one breaking and needing a new one… there are several more options for a kettle available today than there were a decade ago but we truly love all of our HB products and decided to replace it with the exact one. Shipping took 2 days through Amazon and the box looks fine, but it was shipped in the actual box, not a shipping box. I don’t want to plug it in to use it, because the lid doesn’t open properly. It sticks and feels horribly cheap. Not at all the product I am used to. The lid won’t open with one hand, and you have to pry it with 2. Is this just a defective one or is this the new design? It looks exactly like the old one. I also ordered another brand for my aunt a couple of weeks ago after she used mine and loved it. Hers seems to work flawlessly. I am disappointed in this purchase, but still want a need an operational kettle. Amazon says I need to contact you directly. What can be done?

Pretty good kettle for the money. Boils water pretty quick. The on off switch seems flimsy , but who knows time will tell. It works good so far and I use it everyday.

Buena calentadora de agua, fácil de usar y calienta el agua en minutos y se apaga automáticamente al hervirla. Asi que si la dejas desatendida no hay problema porque se apaga por si sola, solo asegúrense de cerrar bien la tapa porque de lo contrario veran que no se apaga porque parece que necesita acumular presion de algun modo al hervir para apagarse. Ha sucedido que algunas veces hierve por tiempo que parece extendido y me he dado cuenta que no cerraron bien la tapa y en cuando la cierro bien en un momento ya se apaga.

It takes so much time to boil the water if it is full, unfortunately I throughout the box otherwise I would return it also the lid is not made of a good material. This brand should be betterthan that. disappointed!
