If one is debating buying a torch that resembles a sub-machine gun, I do recommend this one. Does anyone need such a torch? Probably not, but it’s sure a lot of fun! The torch is easily locked/unlocked by the safety selector switch. Squeeze the trigger to ignite the flame. There is a flame adjustment dial on the handle. I found the torch to be easy to fill with butane and use. The torch has a good grip and is steady. The front magazine bends in for adjustable support for positioning. There is a usb port to charge igniter/LED light. I like this torch as its functional, fun and gives my grill arsenal a little personality. The torch seems well made and safe to use. I believe it’s currently a little more on the expensive side but would consider it a good value if found on sale.

I was at a Wagyu restaurant a few weeks ago and had Nigiris. They had used A5 Wagyu and torched it with one of these, but what was so cool was it was only torched for about 5 seconds. The food was amazing but the presentation was pretty stunning. They had done the same with several of the desert items to immediately warm and melt chocolate and caramel and seared the top layer of Creme Brulee. The guy they used looked like something from a futuristic spy movie or sci fi movie and I asked them where they got it, they pointed me here.The one thing (as crazy as this sounds) is that if you were walking around with one, someone could easily confuse it for a real weapon (to anyone that knows guns, no but for others). In fact the only problem I've had with it is once my nephews and niece saw it, they got obsessed and wanted to play with it but that's a totally different issue.It's easy to setup, super easy. Pull it out of the box, load it, viola', you're off to the races as soon as you pull the trigger. The flame is immediate, you can control the length and intensity to a large extent and the make of the gun makes it really easy to hold with one hand and sear, or use both hands if you need to be really precise with something that's static.It's light so that anyone can use it and it doesn't take any substantive amount of finger or hand strength. There's a safety on it and you can unload it (b/c honestly, if kids see it they'll likely be enamored with it and you don't want them playing with it) and reload it quickly when you need it.Light, simple and easy to use, effective, comfortable. Checks every box I care about.

It’s got a trigger starter so no need to use matches or a spark lighter. The fill connection is on the bottom of the reservoir and it seems to fit standard butane canisters. They stress that only butane is compatible with this torch, and you’ll need to furnish the fuel since none comes with the torch.To use it, you click the lever from Locked to Unlocked. The indicator lights for the battery charge lights up. The batteries are rechargeable with a USB-C cable (not included) so no need to worry about replacing alkaline batteries. Once it’s unlocked, you pull the trigger and the flame will instantly light up. When lit, it’s got a well-defined flame tip with good high temperatures. It works great for creme brulee, starting the charcoal for your BBQ and getting a nice char on your meat, melting cheese on your casserole, or you could even use it for soldering things. The torch is very versatile.There’s a control wheel to increase and decrease the flame size, and that about all you need for controls. It’s super easy to use, and it’s a great addition for your cooking needs.All in all, a well made product and it will be useful for around the kitchen and for those projects you need a good torch with a hot flame.

I always wanted a torch for cooking different things including crème brûlée. The flame is adjustable from small to really large by turning the adjustment knob on the handle. The front leg can fold down so that it is at a 45 degree angle. Either way it is stable. Being in the form of a gun really makes it unique.
