This crusher seems to work just as well as the much more expensive one that I bought at the same time, so I returned that one. I have it attached to a 6 x 6 post of my pergola and it is very sturdy and works very well for my purposes. Does have a little bit more difficult time crushing the tiny soda cans, but since we don’t drink that much of them. It’s not too much of a bother.

Overall the quality of construction is pretty darn good. It's all stamped steel, fairly heavy duty, good paint, etc. Mine was a little misaligned but I was able to gently bend the handle to center and it stayed put. The minor misalignment wouldn't have caused any trouble using it, just bugged me looking at it.I have a very old plastic one that continues to amaze me with how well it's held up outside. This one looks MUCH nicer but is no better, and maybe even a little worse, in it's ability to crush aluminum cans. I say this because the bottom of the cans simply always stay put on my old plastic crusher. With this one they occasionally slip and the can gets crushed crooked. I think the smooth glossy paint is actually the cause of the slippage. Maybe if the bottom had a slightly different contour shape it would hold cans more reliably. Both crush the can equally as flat. This one has slightly less leverage so it is a little bit harder to crush a can as well. I haven't tried the bottle opener since I just don't have any bottles with caps. I tried to crush a 16 ounce plastic soda bottle but it won't fit - too tall. I'm not sure what plastic bottles fit - maybe some for plain water? It came with 4 good quality heavy-duty screws for mounting and a tiny little bottle of oil for the pivot points and slide. The handle is a foam rubber that's reasonably comfortable but, in my experience, won't hold up outdoors. The longest I've seen this sort of foam rubber last outside is 3-4 years best case (not in direct sunlight). I think I'd rather have a spare handle/grip than the tiny little bottle of oil

This is a fairly decent can crusher. Overall build quality seems to be pretty solid. Appreciate the foam wrapped handle. Couple things to note. One; it may not necessarily crush the cans as small as you may want them, however if you were put a spacer block of wood you can get more leverage. Also, pinch the sides of the can before you crush it; makes crushing much easier.
