I like that this paper holds the pastels layer by layer very well. However, it is NOT velvet paper. Velvet paper is much softer and actually feels like the fabric, thus giving a very different finished effect. The only reason I kept this pad is that I really needed paper for an upcoming competition. It works, just not like the paper I wanted...........real velvet paper.
