Quality Card for Pastelling
Pastelmat pads by Clairefontaine are available in three different sizes. The surface is coarser than velour, but softer than sandpaper.

There are 14 colours in the range, collated into six assorted pads. Choose the best shade for your pastels and subject.
Suitable for Multi-Techniques
A flexible medium. As well as pastels, try using pencils, charcoal, cutting, gluing and folding for different effects.
Easy to Use
The pastel adheres so well to the paper, there is no need to use a fixative between each layer. Each sheet is protected by a crystal paper divider.

The size that is listed on the cover is 9 1/2 X 12. However, it's actually 9 1/2 by 11 3/4. So, if you want to put it in a frame that's 12 inches, it will be short a quarter of an inch. The glued pages came unglued, but that's not a problem. I really love the paper for pastels and I will be ordering a larger size in the future.

I can get a lot of layers with a ton of details on the top layer using this paper. Very happy with this and it will be my substrate of choice for pastels and colored pencils going forward.

This paper is the best surface for pastel. The four colors in this pad are perfect. Order came quickly . Price is worth the quality of paper.

The product is awesome. I will always buy this paper. Only problem I had was it was shipped in a padded envelope so the corner of the pad was damaged and the whole pad is slightly curled. I can still use them, but its a drag. I don't want to wait for a new one so I am just keeping it.

So happy I spent the money on this paper. I wish I'd seen the shipping option before ordering though. It came direct from seller in environmental low packaging and was a bit banged up.

Absolutely love this paper. It's cheaper to buy the pads rather than the paper singly and I prefer the light blue paper to any other colour and is the one I mostly use (as in the attached photos of my drawings). I am also a real novice at painting. I taught myself to draw (with step-by-step guides) just over a year ago and when I got better decided to go a stage further and use a few basic watercolours to liven them up a bit more but was absolutely hopeless with them. I then went onto different types of pastels using different makes of pastel paper. This make of paper is definitely the best for me. The pastels I use go on so smoothly and are easy to erase with a putty eraser when you make a mistake (which I frequently do). I used a normal eraser once which permanently marked the paper so it is a real learning curve for me. Great paper though (and a little heavier than the Canson Mi-Teintes paper).Edit: I actually used the 18cm x 24cm size on the two pictures but bought both types.

Questa è in assoluto la migliore carta per pastelli! Il pastello aderisce immediatamente alla carta e il primo strato è poco sfumabile, se non lievemente con uno sfumino di carta, ma come si continua ad aggiungere colore le possibilità diventano infinite, si può sfumare sia con sfumini che con le dita, e se si usa una mano leggera si possono fare sovrapposizioni e correzioni praticamente all'infinito. È ideale sia per pastelli morbidi che per pastelli più duri, quelli solitamente di tipo rettangolare, che per le matite pastello e PanPastel, ma la si può usare anche con matite colorate, incluse quelle acquarellabili perché è molto spessa e si può usare l'acqua.A differenza della comune carta per pastelli si crea pochissima polvere mentre si disegna e non occorre usare un fissativo finale. Secondo me non esiste di meglio, una buona superficie fa tutta la differenza in un disegno, soddisfazione estrema!
