Works pretty good just be careful. It takes a little getting used to but does the job. Not the best quality so be careful. Make sure you keep it flat to the block so the band stays flush and not off centered or the ring will pop out. The ratcheting part could be better. I used this for installing new rings in a 01 Civic and 09 Impreza.

Definitely not for 4 cylinder engines. Piston ring pliers don't even work for my set of Wiseco's. Would be very great fpr v6-v8-v10-v12 or any engine with big pistons in general. My pistons were 81.5mm

Great tool to keep from scratching your pistons while installing compression rings. Made the job go super easy and fast. Can’t beat the price! I didn’t use the ring compressor. I bought a round plastic fixed size made for special this 5.3 LS engine. 3.780 I found it on eBay for 1/2 the price of the aluminum name brand ones.
