I had a no spark on both cylinders. I couldn't find any issues with safeties so I guessed this was my issue. I wasn't sure how to test it. Well it seems I guessed correctly because my mower runs again after installing this. Fitment was perfect.

Works like a champ. this aint no bull, the tractor ran with the old one but was hard starting, and would not idle very well, tried this one without removing the old one, and WOOOO she idled down to nothing real smooth, I am ordering another one now just in case.

Note to installers of this item. Check the voltage going to this and the coil. On a John Deer 285 there was quite a bit of voltage drop. Using a Bosch style cube relay, I used the voltage normally going to these parts to the coil of the relay. Then wired from the constant hot at the starter solenoid to the cube relay common terminal. Now that the coils are getting full voltage, it starts much better with less smoke. Note that this modification doesn’t affect the safety system.

I installed on a John Deere, but it only ran on 1 cylinder. It took me a while in my spare time to troubleshoot everything, and found nothing wrong with any of the parts on my engine. I purchased an OEM ignitor and mower fired right up and ran fine. However, since it took me so long to figure this out, the return window is closed, so I am stuck with this bad part.BEWARE BUYING CHEAP CHINESE KNOCKOFFS. There is a reason they are so much cheaper than OEM.I will update if customer service does the right thing, which I doubt.

John Deere 345 started running rough then smelled burnt electrical smell, removed ignition module and found burnt wires and melted case. Bought another one and will see if it lasts any longer.
