Perfect for queso fresco. A gallon of milk produces three to four times of cheese (depending on brand) at a fraction of the cost of commercially available products.

Colorful and perfectly sized for beginning home cheese making! Easy to clean, heat resistant, drains well and handles the pressing weights well.

This has been an interesting item. It definitely makes cheese easier. I like how I can press out excess liquid without so much physical effort. It washed up nicely in soapy dishwater. I think the plastic could be a bit sturdier. That's my only suggestion.

I got this for my first foray into cheese making. I'd hoped there would be instructions and maybe some simple recipes, but this is just the cheese mold and what they call a follower (a piece that fits inside the mold that you can put a weight (like a can of food) on top to help the whey drain out of the cheese. In order to make a simple goat cheese I also needed some cheesecloth to line the mold, although I guess if your curds were large enough, you could skip that and a thermometer in addition to the cheese ingredients. I happened to have those things and found recipes online. This was easy and intuitive to use and it could also be used for draining other items such as tofu where you need to let something sit with a weight on top of it.If I didn't have some of the other things that were needed already, I would have gotten a cheese-making kit, but this is sturdy and works great if you know this is what you want and don't mind looking for instructions and recipes elsewhere.

We're new to cheesemaking, but this looks like it will be a good cheese mold. Don't expect this to be a cheesemaking kit, as it isn't that. It is ONLY the mold and follower, to which you will need to add some recipes. different weights, say a10lb., a 20lb and a 40 would be good choices, added to your follower to help express the whey from your cheese curds.I agree that instructions and recipes would have been great assets to the product, but the seller never claimed to include these. however if a person is buying a cheese mold, I would presume they know what to do with it. It is perfectly adequate for its intended purpose. SMALL mind you, but for someone's first attempts or for a small batch, it is, again, very adequate. A cheap way to enter the hobby to see if it suits you before spending a lot on money on it.
