Read this before you buy! This will NOT convert an NVMe drive to SATA (as a lot of the one star reviews seem to be attempting), nor will it convert SATA drives to PCIe. It is *TWO separate* adapters on one board, not a converter. But connecting a NVMe SSD to a PCIe SlimSAS connector? It works exactly as advertised, and I'm getting full speed via the SlimSAS connector (+ the power connector). I haven't tested the SATA port yet.PRO: This is the cheapest NVM M.2 to SlimSAS adapter around, and works well so far for my PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe drive.CON: I took one star off because this isn't all that easy to mount, well, anywhere really. None of the holes in the PCB lined up with any sort of desktop standard. I ended up using foam tape to stick it at an odd angle, because the SlimSAS connector being at a right angle is very awkward to deal with and cable manage.Will this work for you? First, are you going to be *connecting* to a SATA port, a SlimSAS port, or both?If both, then yes, you can fill both drives, one B and one M keyed drive each.If just via the SlimSAS port, you can populate one PCIe NVME M keyed drive. A SATA SSD with B/B+M keys WILL NOT WORK for you.If just via the SATA port, you can populate one SATA B/B+M keyed SSD. An NVMe SSD with an M key WILL NOT WORK for you.

I thought this would work with my M.2 NVMe SSD to pull data off of with it connected to a SATA to USB cable… It didn’t. Didn’t even recognize that something was plugged into the USB port. Tried this on 3 different devices. Even tried different SSD’s that were all new. Nothing! Bought a second one to see if the items was defective, nope, still didn’t work. I was really hoping this would work because I needed it to for work and what I do I in the field. Just created 2 labels to ship back.

I am not sure that the issue is. I brought the first one and put in my SSD m.2nvme into the adapter and plugged it into my esata cable and it does not even recognize. I thought this was a mistake and ordered another one same issue. This product does not seems to work at all.there is no manual user guide or nothing to troubleshoot. Save your money

doesnt work as advertised, good rating is false, low ratings due to NVME never works, only SATA sometimes, according to valid one star reviews. installing a NVME card and using SATA cables as shown, causes onboard chip and NVME card to get HOT. think they destroyed my new $200 memory card.

1. This item did not come with instructions. 2. This is an add on device for existing SFF-8654 hookups. 3. It requires an external cable and card or connector on MB. I've included several hookup pictures from another site to help those who can still use this card.
