This Clear Light Switch Guard is a fantastic little gadget! It's super easy to install and does exactly what it's supposed to—prevent accidental switch flips. I installed it over a light switch that controls important equipment, and it’s been perfect at keeping curious hands away. The clear design is great because it blends seamlessly with the wall and doesn’t stand out or look bulky. It's sturdy, well-made, and still allows access to the switch when needed. If you're looking for a simple solution to protect certain light switches, this is a must-have! Highly recommend!

I buy everything I review. To receive FIVE stars, a product must meet >90% of the manufacturer's claims. I don’t subtract because I don’ t like the color or appearance (too subjective and personal). I review form, function, ease of use, and construction quality. Please forgive typos: I’m an evidence-based scientist, NOT a typist. If you find my review helpful, please click "YES". This helps me improve future evaluations (which I do for free to help people make more informed decisions).Their Claim: Protect a toggle switch from being movedMy Verdict (details below): TrueThis switch guard screws into the existing holes on the switch plate, but does NOT come with screws, so you'll need to use the ones you have on. There are three in the set.On each side you'll find a tab. Each is designed to be broken off BEFORE installation if you plan on accessing the toggle. For some purposes, you NEVER want to touch the switch, so you'd keep it on. You could in theory still fit a knife edge between the tab and front edge of the cover and move the switch, but there's no way your finger is getting in there if these tabs are in place. Not even a baby's finger would fit.I broke off BOTH my tabs as with just one removed for one of my switches, it was hard to actuate the switch. But for you, you may want just one. With both sides removed, you can touch the toggle on both sides and move it up/down more easily, but STILL not accidentally as the front is completely blocked.I found it fairly easy it is to break off the tabs by moving them back and forth a couple of times. On the other hand, they're very sturdy and won't break off once installed because the light switch prevents you from wiggling them back and forth. That's why you need to do it BEFORE screwing it in place. If you want, you can always unscrew it and remove them later. No big deal. This is not any more difficult to remove with a straight screwdriver than a switch plate. This is a perfect design and does EXACTLY what it claims. I have mine over my Radon Mitigation fan, which I never want to turn off. I kept the tabs on for that. For my back patio light, which I rarely use, I did remove both tabs. Since that switch is next to the kitchen light, it protects it from accidentally being turned on and burning out the bulb (it's hard to see the light from inside). This way, I don't have to keep checking to be certain the switch is DOWN and off. It stays where I want because of the switch guard.Nicely done.

This is perfect. It is really as easy to install as it says. It is clear plastic so is almost invisible. It is no larger than it needs to be. It does the intended job very well with minimum fuss. It actually has 3 levels of 'security': 1) Most secure: leave everything as is. It will require a pencil (eraser end), a screwdriver, or some very delicate manipulation to move the switch. With a screwdriver or a pencil, though, they slip through the hole on each end & it's an easy flip. 2) remove one side. You can then use a finger just from one side to reach in and flip the switch. Finger likely won't go in all the way, but with small deliberate effort will catch enough of the switch to flip. 3) remove both sides: can then grasp switch's sides from both sides with a thumb & a finger and easily switch it, but it won't just get accidentally knocked from above. The side tabs are very easy to pop out with fingers or a screwdriver. Precut enough to allow easy removal, but still robust enough to leave in. I looked at many versions of this kind of thing. This appeared to be the most simple, most elegant, well priced. I'm glad I got it. I use it on 2 switches & I will give one to a friend. If I ever have the need will definitely use another of these.

This did not fit my specific switch plate. I have two horizontal switches with a vertical outlet. Because of the outlet it did not fit. Easy fix however I cut one tab and secured it using the other.

I ordered the switch cover for my mom’s outdoor security light. This design is a little different from others I’ve purchased. It has holes in the top and bottom, so that it’s still possible to change the switch from on to off, but it would be intentional. Easy to install, the clear cover looks nice with her wood switch plate. Very satisfied and would recommend to others.

I will admit I never knew such a product existed, but I'm happy I found them. We have 2 indoor light switches that stay in an on position because they control front and back porch lights that go on and off with sunrise and sunset light bulbs. I had a piece of black electrical tape on both switches for years so people wouldn't inadvertently flip the switches...and I hated how it looked. I came across these switch guards on Amazon and for the price I thought I can't go wrong. So glad I purchased. Simple to install and how much better they look than the tape. One switch is occasionally turned off and on and this is super simple with the end of a pencil through the top and bottom holes of the guard. There are no negatives to these guards, and I would highly recommend

These are simple yet effective to keep people from turning off switches that don't need to be used. In my case, i have smart bulbs, so these light switches need to remain on.

Bought these for use in our childcare centres to prevent accidental or unwanted flipping of light switches. They installed quickly and easily, and are very effective at what they're designed to do. These covers are quite subtle too so they don't look weird on the walls. Very happy considering the low price!

Does the trick and nice to have 2 levels of access.

I recently installed an outdoor light/motion sensor light. The switch was always getting turned off. The Switch Guard solved that problem. It fit very nicely on the standard wall switch. What makes this design so versatile is the different levels of security if offers. You can break out one or both of the side tabs for easy switching and still have protection from accidental contact or leave the tabs in but still have the ability to activate the switch on and off by using a pencil or other slim object through the holes at the top and bottom. Plus it looks much better than the scotch tape I tried at first.
