How to use the Stovetop Espresso Maker
1. Load
Fill the basket with fresh, finely ground coffee. You want the coffee even, level with the top of the basket and uncompressed.
2. Fill
Pour fresh (filtered or bottled for best results) water into the base.
Take care not to fill above the level of the safety valve.
3. Assemble
Clear any grounds from the threads and place the basket inside the base.
Screw the top and bottom parts firmly together.
4. Enjoy
Place on the stove until you hear gurgling then remove and run under cold water to stop the brewing process. Enjoy!

I grew up with a coffee percolator and it’s nice to return. Easy and probably just as quick as a trendy machine. Much cheaper and environmentally friendly with no pods going to a landfill. Being hands on is fulfilling. Stop to smell the coffee.

I made a couple pots of Italian coffee in this pot and really liked it…. at first. Then, as I was gently washing it in the sink, I grabbed it by its handle which just snapped off. Upon closer examination I discovered that the handle was just spot welded to the side of the stainless steel pot. Spot welding a piece of stainless steel to another piece of stainless is not a secure way to attach the handle. I’m just glad it didn’t snap off when it was full of hot coffee, which is a real possibility. They should have screwed the handle on or used small rivets. I’m returning it because by current design it is just an accident waiting to happen.

So I gifted this to one of my best friends. I love the coffee that comes out. It’s not an espresso machine but the coffee is much more concentrated. My first the handle broke off. I still have the other two. One for camping and one for every day use. I first tried the aluminum ones they get the job done but not as appealing to the eye and much looser so not the same result on taste. These are beautiful, easy to use, depending on the type of grind affects the filter. For the most part no issues. I’m ok with some tiny grounds in the bottom. Definitely recommend if you love coffee.

First and foremost, I think this makes a sub-par cup of coffee. I have a Mokapot that I have been using for the past 20 years that brews much better coffee. The coffee comes out very weak and after brewing is complete there is a decent amount of water left in the bottom half.NOTE: The bottom half of the coffee maker has RAZOR SHARP edges near the opening. Simply cleaning it can cut you pretty bad. Not sure if that is by design, but it is not safe IMO.

Threads to screw top on/off misaligned, making usage frustrating. Not true stainless steel as there is a coating on interior parts. Returned for higher quality espresso pot.
