I wanted a coffee grinder and saw this one. I love that it fits on a mason jar. It does a great job and the grind is adjustable.

The box was damaged in shipping, and the grinding parts were shoved together so tightly that I had to take the entire thing apart and put it all back together to get it to move at all. It took a few tries to get the grind size adjusted to what I am happy with, and it works fine. It fits well on the jars I have already, but it will be the backup for the other hand crank grinder I already have, which was much more expensive and built better.I would prefer if the wooden handle was screwed on the crank instead of riveted, it does wobble more than I am comfortable with. There is a silicone feeling cover that comes with it, and we keep that cover on it while grinding to prevent the beans from escaping. I even went as far as banging the side of the hopper on my counter to see if it was sturdy and it was great. It didn't lose any shape at all.We make one cup of coffee at a time in a pour-over cone, and it holds enough beans for that, but I don't believe it would hold enough for a full pot.For the price, it is good. There is better out there, but better will cost more.

As manual coffee grinders go this is a good one, and worth the price. The only thing that would improve it is if it were made of heavier material. It fits nicely on a pint size, regular mouth Mason jar, and requires five hoppers full to fill the jar. If you like fresh ground coffee, and don't mind a little manual labor, you should get one of these.

Pros: The grind size adjustment is great and stays set where you put it. The burr seems to be high quality and the grind is really consistent - quality of ground coffee you'd expect from a couple hundred dollar electric burr grinder.Cons: Very, very slow and the hopper size is way to small. I have to grind three hoppers full of beans to get enough grounds for a 12 cup percolator. The connection of the hopper to the jar ring feels flimsy - you can feel it moving while grinding so I suspect it won't last a long time. I'm considering buying the large mouth version to get a bigger hopper, but I think the price is a bit steep for something that feels like it may not last so I'm going to wait and see how this small one holds up.

I've been wanting something like this for a while now, and I love that it fits regular mouth Mason Jars.I'm definitely going to be getting a few more for backup and gifts for Christmas. It works great and cleaning is so simple. Just wish I could have found it sooner. Adjusting the grind for a regular grind or for Espresso is simple, and although I don't need to do the Espresso grind, it's nice to know that I can do it if needed.

The grinder is difficult to use and is very particular as to what brand of mason jars one tries to use. It works with Mason or Ball brand but does not work well with generic jars. The grinder is complicated to adjust and difficult to grind coffee beans. Not worth the $18 price.
