I bought these to replace some of the hardware used for mounting my hurricane shutters before Milton hit us recently. Some of my original screw heads stripped a bit, so I ordered these as replacements.The steel seems pretty good. I didn't find that they stripped easily, which is a plus. You'll need a #3 Philips bit for them, as a #2 is too small and will definitely cause the heads to strip.Overall, I recommend them for this use case.

Quality is very good on this must have hardware. Use waterproof marine grease on the threads to extend life and ease of use. Bound up threads encourage damaging the Philips screw heads and can make removal difficult.

If you live in an area where hurricane shutters are needed AND the hurricane shutter hardware is worn or stripped from use ... these bolts are a good replacement choice.With two back to back hurricanes this year in Florida, the local hardware stores were completely out of similar bolts. Many of the existing bolts on my house have been painted over and the slots in the bolt head were damaged from using a screw driver or power tool to loosen and tighten when putting up the shutters.I've replaced the bolts with these and anticipate a much easier time of putting up the shutters this hurricane season (if needed). I've been using a Ph #3 bit with great success in these new bolts.
