Should work well. Feels heavier than my friends shackle of the same size.As others have said, arrived with paint chipping. I am guessing they are stored in a box with other shackles and that is how the paint gets chipped. It may be more expensive than other shackles, but I don't trust the quality of the materials in the others.

The fit and quality seem good the finish not so much. Arrived with multiple large chips in the powder coating I'll have them stripped and recoated locally. They also are a shade or two darker than the photo appears but could just be my eyes like the what color is this dress experiment. Over all a good buy and the quality is heavy duty I have no fears these will pull my Tacoma out of anything I put it into. If finish is a concern get unfinished and have them coated yourself (that is what I'll be doing for the rear shackles.) I'll update upon any issues as I use them. Vendor I used was Horizon Supply Company.3/29/19 UPDATETHESE THINGS ARE BEASTS. Have held up to salt water, river crosses, rocky trails, highways, even being ran over when one fell off (user error/ use a screw driver to wrench down a little if in rough terrain) highly recommended!

Well made, a bit pricey but Crosby is known to make quality product. A shame they were just thrown in a bag, some of the Red paint was chipped. But i kind of expected this do to other reviews. Key here was quality and safety.

Years ago - a lot of years - I laughed at painted shackles. And bought a bunch of bare shackles. And I dropped one in the snow and it disappeared. And I set one down in the grass and it disappeared. And one in the sand and it disappeared. And so on. And now I'm down to one. :( And these things are getting a little expensive to be replacing one or two a year. So, I apologize to all the manufacturers of brightly colored shackles. They had a good idea and I wasn't smart enough to see that. :)So far I haven't managed to loose one. They're a LOT easier to see on the ground, in the snow and just sitting in the garage. They seem to be a quality product. The coating is much better quality than most of the shackles I've seen and after several thousand miles of winter driving, the finish looks like it did when I bought it. I will be purchasing half a dozen more shortly.

As other reviewers have reported, my unit arrived with several major gaps in the coating where it appears to have fallen off after being coated. This is really unacceptable in a product that's nearly triple the cost of very similar competing devices. From the looks of it either the metal was not properly cleaned before coating, preventing it from sticking properly, or the coating was applied poorly (maybe with bubbles?) and failed to bond to the metal's surface. (See image - there are black gaps in the coating on the pin handle and end, and there's also gaps not shown on the shackle around its open end.) This leaves gaps on the shackle's coating that will likely eventually rust, given that this is intended to be carried on the outside of a vehicle down near the road surface, subject to salt spray and other substances. I will likely send it back and just buy a cheaper alternative, as I'm not sure how I can be confident of the shackle's overall quality if it's so obviously defective upon visual inspection.

Seems to be well built and very heavy duty. Be sure you buy shackles with their working load limit stamped on them like this one. Looks great hanging on my Jeep Wrangler!

Very heavy duty which I why I wanted them. Also made in the USA. Also, why I wanted them. As everyone else has said though, the finish is spotty, chunks of paint missing upon arrival. I'm getting mine powder coated at my own additional expense to match the red highlights on my truck. I bought three and don't feel bad about them at all.
