This fits perfectly on an 2012 Tacoma. If it’s a little tight like has been mentioned here, it’s because the brackets can easily bend a bit during shipping. I had the same issue. It wasn’t a problem, I didn’t need any hydronic jack or anything at all. I just stood it upright, tucked the bent bracket under the front of a tire on my Toyota and pulled the hitch towards me and it bent it back the tiny bit I needed for and easy install, it went snug into place. Just remove the 2 bolts on each side and loosen the other 3 and slide it into place. Use the 4 new bolts on the underside first. The rest is a breeze! It did it by myself in the snow which was easy on the back! It’s a heavy duty hitch. I couldn’t be happier with it!

As stated in other reviews fitment is an issue. I bought this for a 2007 Tacoma (2wd). I had to use a big pipe wrench and stand on it to bend the ears for it to fit around the frame rails. The installation isn’t bad other than that and the instructions are clear, the use of a floor jack is almost a must. (Weight is 45lbs) The wiring kit is simple to install (they just clip into your taillight terminals and zip tie the wiring underneath your frame). All in all nice hitch, but be prepared to use ingenious ideas to bend the ears to fit around the frame.

Satisfied with the fit and quality just a couple install notes to save you some heartburn. My 2011 had seen some road salt and had had an undercoat done so be prepared for dealing with corroded fasteners. 12-15 $ for a tap to clean out the frame rail nuts highly recommended. Remove the spare tire, it will be in the way for torquing the bolts and running the wires. Because of the corrosion I found it simpler to just remove the rear bumper and deal with the bracket bolts on the bench. The only hitch with the wiring was a misprint in the destruction sheet telling you that the green wired plug should go to the passenger and drivers' side, it goes to the passenger side, the red wired plug to drivers. Install was straightforward and I would recommend this kit.
